Big Fat Red Hl2 Error

So I just finished setting up my new gaming pc and it works like a dream with BF2. I wanted to play some HL2 Lost Coast for my friend though to show him some of the eye candy my x1900 xt can whip up. However, I seem to be having some problem loading up the game. It's kind of hard to explain, but basically, the level renders with these big fucking red shiny error objects that look kind of cool to be honest. But thus the game becomes unplayable. I have a recorded video of the problem, maybe someone has seen it and knows what to do. I did my work in searching google, and I'm waiting to be authorized on the steam forums to post there, but so for now I thought I'd post here. Here's the link, hopefully someone can help me out. Oh and I got some screenshots too.

Edit: I fixed the problem now. Looks like the download of the game files got screwed up. If this happens to you, just find the option to verify the game files. It'll re-download for you once it realizes it screwed up.

you might need to delete and re-download the content. there's a way of verifying it too, but i can't remember what it is (at work and can't check atm)

The oldest trick in the book, download *The Newest* drivers for your card, if you've tried that option then i don't know what to tell ya.

The fact that this exists in the game tells us that Valve took the time to make a giant 3D model of the word "Error." For some reason that just appeals to my appreciation of the absurd.

Lol, yea those errors looked a little bit too well rendered. I'm sure someone had fun making those babies.

+1 For giving the right solution :-). I found that "verify game content" button and it was quick to start re-downloading hehe. I kinda miss the errors though, they were kind of cool, like a whole new breed of alien on HL2.
