BF2S Forums 5 kills for basic knife combat badge?

I also got veteran and basic at the same time, and I had about 10 knife kills so far that round. Others in my clan got basic after 5,6 and 7 knife kills, so I guess it's just one of those things...

I already had 5 and 6 knife kills IAR but no basic knife till now.

7knife kills and u gets basic...7knifekills and global over 50kills,and u get veteran

Yeah, you need a huge mellee on Karkand or even better on Sharqi. Look for where the enemy snipers hide!! And go knife 'em!

There was a short point where UBAR did say 5 kills for basic knife combat, but that was rectified quickly.

I agree that EA should shut those Knife/Pistol only servers down. It's cheap that so many people have gained awards by doing this. It's unsporting and next to cheating.

I'm getting my Vet and Basic at the same time as soon as I break my 6 knife kill IAR record.

here's a question for ethics:

lets say you and your clan mates are playing on the same server, different sides.  you both need your pistol or knife badge.  you make an agreement: only kill each other with knives/pistols.

you have no idea where each other are.  you're not actively searching each other out.  you're playing as normal (cappin' flags, gunnin' down random souls, etc).  but when you come accross your clanmate, you lock yourself into a deadly knife fight to the death...

do you think that'd be screwed up?  perfectly fine?  somewhere in the middle?

i saw some guys doing that once, so i join them but i just got 5 knife kills
a couple of days later i got my vet knife at oman i knifed a lot of sniper on the beach
my expert got it on karkan (got it on first try), i knifed 4 dudes from squad in the first minute of the round and teammate killed me after that, good tip kill the guys from an squad and if you see an enemy medic let him revive them and then you knife them again and knife the medic at least  4 easy kills
after i got my expert knife badge i have done 10 knife kills in a round without trying it i just saw the oportunities

I got my Basic and Veteran Knife Badge last night at the same time. But it only showed up as getting a Veteran Knife Badge.  I checked BFHQ and lo and behold both were awarded to me!

This badge has been the bane of my existance, until I kept at it and found some intricacies of a knifefight.  Like running diagonally at someone and then changing direction jumping over someone's head and slashing while turning around and stabbing.  Or the same approach and dolphin diving to hit them in the crotch or stomach area.  I am now pretty comfortable sprinting up to someone and knifing them when they are shooting me with an assault rifle.  What's even better is if they miss with their grenade launcher, bunny hopping around trying to reload and stab them before they land on the second hop!

Sometimes, I am sprinting at someone with a knife, they turn around and run away chucking a grenade or they are firing wildly, depleting a full clip without hitting me once, I round the corner and slice him up.  And even more fun is when the enemy pulls out his knife and we duke it out.  If someone else comes along and kills me whilst in a knife fight with another guy (this is an unhonourable practice I might add) I jokingly state, "Hey! Don't mess up a man's knife fight "

I also recently got the Basic and Veteran Pistol Badge in the same round (different round than my Knife one.)

P.S. Jumping up and stabbing snipers climbing up ladders is very fun.
