i miss.
That small boat that floats off was used to house some of the bombing equipment. The explosion was rigged so it would float of undamaged and the equipment (electrical and radio??) could be re used[S.P.S]1on1killa wrote:

was that the essex or another US ship?
what a bloody waste. they should have tested a missile on it instead of rigging it with explosives. hell, they shouldve have done the MOAB test on this ship!

My grandfather actually served on that Yorktown. It's an awesome museum. The first Yorktown was sunk shortly after Midway.Badcomp wrote:

Might possible be the USS Yorktown or Hornet but not sure
The Yorktown is in Cahrleston, SC @ Patriot's Point and the Hornet is at Alemada CA, naval museum.
I used to live near Alameda, CA and been to the Hornet Naval Museum a billion of times, once to see a historic speech on the first 25th anniversary of going to the moon and Buzz Aldrin talked onboard on the carrier and stuff. Ya good times.puckmercury wrote:

its sitting upright.FathomsDown wrote:
It looks like they botched the sinking as it didn't go down evenly. "Artificial reefs" tend to be sunk upright so noob divers don't get confused, loose the way out and drown inside them.
The boat is still there in the last pic.[S.P.S]1on1killa wrote:
