Aside from the awful spelling, I would like to know that how much have time in armour have you played? A lot of shots go ricochet/ glance a enemy, it's not that much of a "wtf" moment now. Although the enemy pretty much sufferes the same damage than a non glancing hit.

If you read the 'features' of Battefield 2 you'll find that it says that Tanks have reflective armour, so tank shells can riccochet off if hit at certain angles.
However, I've never seen this feature in game, and was wondering where it went.
Your report on your stubborn Vodnik seem to suggest that Dice, instead of putting this reflective armour on the tanks, mucked up and put it on the Vodnik instead. Ah well, at least we know where it is now.

The tanks have reactive armor according to the manual, which meens that tank shells will richoet off.

its a 120mm cannon, and tank shells at the right angles ricochet off many things, including all vehicles and mounds of dirt.

Come on dude, no one's going to flame you if this was your first post, don't be so afraid of the prowlies on this forum, no one would've known if you hadn't brought it up saying this was your first post and everything would've happened just the way all information transactions are made in this intellectual (or lack thereof) battlefield. Haha, I like your car though, the Vodkin, has a certain spark to it

As has been stated above tanks have reflective armour, if you ask cable or a few of the other US server guys I fired one shell and it destroyed a tank and a APC that were near each other, fun times.

But how this happened with a Vodnik I don't know, as Ty said could just be dodgy coding, or maybe you were at such an angle that the shell reflected.

Also if you fire the walker guns in 2142 at a shallow enough angle they ricochet off the ground and continue upwards, maybe this ricochet occurs in BF2, and maybe it occurs for everything, as I've noticed some weird stuff when prone as infantry.

Amazes me that after over a year we're still working stuff out of this game....

I spent a couple years with the Royal Canadian Dragoons (Tank Corps).  I've seen real 105mm shells bounce off all kinds of things.  It's one of the main reasons tanks have deflective sloping armor so that the shells don't have a vertical surface to impact and shred.

Now in BF2 I'm not a vehicle person, I'm a ground-pounder.  So I haven't seen a tank shell deflect, I'm sure it happens because I've had flash bangs, nades, and smoke that has careened off things in a "WTF??" manner quite a bit.  BF2's physics are not exactly great, and when the engine gets confused I think it automatically sends objects off in a tangent.

I have launched an AT rocket at a tank that was a bit close to me and have it go right through the tank and disapear, another WTF moment. Welcome to BF2.

Thats almost impossible, and if you miss the shot the damage isnt something to bank on.
Best thing you can do is keep it simple, and aim for the tracks/back.

Probably the same problem with the SRAW, it goes through jeeps coming straight at you. It might've looked like it ricocheted if you shot at the side.
