Here is the site http://www.goteamspeak.com
You have to find a team speak server from like my BF2 servers have you just have to type in the ip and the password and connect.   Setting it up can be a pain, but you can figure it out.

So why get it instead of using VoIP?

Performance and quality are better.  Plus, you can have a squad of friends, and you can talk at the same time, coordinating position and information.  Plus plus, you don't have to hit a button to use it.  Think of it like a chat room where you can control who enters (via username/passwords), and you can all talk amongst each other just like you were in the same room.  It's great really, and not just useful in games.  My friends all live/work in different states, so we can just log into our TS server and talk about whatever....like 3-way calling with more people.

I prefer Ventrillo, Teamspeak is Good but the VOIP is terrible, not to mention with Vent or TS you don't have to put up with 10 year olds constantly screaming into their mic when they die.

Not to mention you can completely own a map even if you're not in the same squad. You can alert people about enemy positions and claymores and things even after you die. It's very useful.

Yikes, I forgot that point.  I learned to hate in-game VOIP for this very reason...and long before BF2 at that.

Lockerfish is right too.  If you can relay information well, you gain a serious advantage.  I've been killed several times and warned squadmates not to revive me before killing the AT guy behind the crates.   A friend and I like to take a tank or chopper, me driving, him gunning, and we call out things we see, even giving rough positional info like "APC on our 6" or the "there's 2 bastards on the mosque roof".  With TS, all this chatter mixes in with "hold on...gotta make another drink" and "have you heard from Adam? call him and tell him to get his ass on TS", but we're not spamming the VOIP system.

Yeah, that's one of the key advantages about a system like this v. VOIP.

Kmal, Teamspeak is a very small app. that you open, connect to a server and you can talk to the other guys on the server continuously while you play, before BF2 is even open actually. Think of it as ICQ without the typing. Very memory efficient as far as I can see: no apparent difference with it running or not when playing BF2.
