Alright this has probably been said before but I could find anything about it. Is it possible to shoot the pilots of helicopters with a sniper rifle? I hardly play sniper so I rarely get the chance to do it, but last night I had a good chance. It was on Kubra Dam. I went on the hill by the bridge and saw the heli, it was probably hovering there for a good 20 seconds straight without moving at all. I figured I'd try it out and I had the crosshair right on the pilot for a good four shots and couldn't kill him. I thought somebody said something that you could kill the helicopter pilots but I guess I can't. Is it possible to actually do this or am I just a really bad aim?
You can do it with the M95
you can, but only with the M95 .50cal rifle. the little 'un's (SVD/M24/L96 etc) can't do it
ya sitting at the other end of a landing strip on a hill and killin every one who gets in the jet is fun. they are so worried about whoring the jet most of the time u can kill each of them twice before they come looking for u.

Btw this is the only thing i use the m95 for. Honestly I prefer the SVD and Type 88. But I tend to lag alittle so the extra shots help.

Yes you can do this, but you have to use the...oh, wait...nevermind...five people already answered you. Hopefully you've already figured it out.

Thanks, too bad I was using the L96 at the time. I thought that was supposed to be one of the most powerful guns in the world, come on.
If you cant manage to kill them in 1 maybe 2 shots thru the cockpit class, use the PKM and just unload your ammo into it lol. Ive not tried it, but it would be ironic if the PKM wouldnt shoot thru it considering its also a .50 cal, that sounds like a common EA thing
They had to choose features for each gun for balance, so while the M95 is the most powerful in the game* (all classes down to 2 bars of health, shoots through vehicle glass) it has a scope that makes it harder to aim with and it physically shoots less accurately, particularly at range.FrankieSpankie3388 wrote:

So you can't shoot the occasional pilot out of a chopper using the others? Not a big deal; I'll take the better accuracy of the L96A1 any day of the week given the choice, especially since I've only managed to kill pilots in the cockpit maybe six times I think in 250 hours +, only twice when the helo has been in the air and neither time did the chopper crash and kill the gunner
I've only missed the opportunity maybe 20 or so times and there is no guarantee I could have made the shot even if I had been carrying the Barrett.
*In reality .50 BMG is more powerful than 7.62 NATO, .300 Winchester Magnum, or .308 Lapua Magnum.
