how the fuck am i suppose to presss f11 to look behind me while im flying in an aviator if i use a mouse? everytime i try i fucking die because i have to let go of either the mouse or the gas. is there a way to switch the key or should i just buy a fucking joystick? how much should i pay for a decent joystick?
bind the look behind to a key on your mouse or something. Or a key closer to wasd.

Buy a joystick, i think i paid like 60 bucks for mine? anways.. its worth it.. if you wanna know what stick i have its a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, and it works wonders..

I got a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro (because it has the swivel) and it was ~$40. It's a good joystick with lots of buttons (I only use a few for BF2).

I do it all the time, it's easy as heck.
I have a joystick for the tilting and the WASD keys for rudder and propultion and I use the F11 key to look behind me. I just take my hand off the joystick for a second and tap F11 and then back to F9.

i use wads and arrows. on the keypad i have 1 as cockpit and 2 as rear view. works pretty well (eventho i suck at flying x_x)
I only use a joystick now heh.. my look views are on my HAT button. pull back on it to look behind you. push forward for a 3rd person view .. release and it goes back to first person.

i'm a keyboard aviator too and i map my rear-view to Z, with my cockpit view mapped to my scroll wheel button (mouse button 2). works pretty ok for me

I use the Saitek X52..I use the HAT button to look behind and forward. I have my joystick setup like this.......
