no ability to TK punish/forgive???

for the last couple weeks (i only play on weekends), whenever i get tk'd, i don't even get the message to punish or forgive anymore.

is this a funky 1.3 bug or what?

(yes i used the search and didn't find anything resembling this topic)

There's an option for this, I don't remember what page its on in bfhq. Probably the main options screen where you configure the targeting reticule color. I think my next wiki project will be how to navigate BFHQ....

beyond that, some servers have the option to automatically punish for TK. It is possible the server you play on has changed this option setting to auto punish.

This is the only type of server I play on. Nothing is more annoying than some asshat forcing a tk on you then punishing on top of it.

Also, some servers have the ability to TK Punish turned off. No punish/forgive dialog, and no punish.

since servers can turn it off, the option that is, maybe, coincidentally..... you have been playing on those servers for a while. it happens, i notice more and more servers going that way.....

yep. TK punish gets turned off more and more by server admins, since people kept abusing TK punish and it really served no purpose in the game.

It's against the RoE though, if I remember correctly...

It can't be set to auto-forgive on a ranked server, not 'legally':

Option A: TK punish is optional for the player by using the pgup/pgdn voting system.
Option B: TK punish is to be set to automatic or on, but may not be set to off.

Hmmm .... I had a similar problem a while ago where I got punished for a TK someone ran into my claymore! ..then the same guy tracked me down and blew me up with a grenade so I waited for the option to punish..(blatantly tk'd me ) but it never came.....

all I can assume is that he was an admin and turned it off to get me??

Any ideas

^^^ yes, i do believe i remember reading that as well in roe..... why, ill never know because it's not like your points change if you are punished or not.....

Yeah, it's -4 regardless. The punish system was supposed to be a means of ejecting players who were deliberately teamkilling, or too careless, but simply autokicking for a given negative team score would accomplish the same thing.
