add ability to pick new class at any supply box.

it's been done in the delta force games, and gives players more tactical flexibility.

it's probably also been suggested here.

it's definitely never going to make it into the game.

you may now begin hijacking this thread with pictures of owls.

I thought the kits in BF 2142 were gonna be pretty customisable in that you choose what you take?

And if you want an owl, you can have an owl?

It's not a bad idea actually. It might cut down on the number of times i'm completely not equipped for the situation.

no owls please they are scarry i think they should make new unlocks aswell (for the higher ranked players)
now you got all unlocks if you have 50.000 global why not make more for people with 60.000 +

I've thought about this too. Would make everyone a little more versitile. Would also help me when I have days like yesterday when I can't seem to use the proper kit for the situation, e.g, Sniper vs tank, SpecOps vs long range sniper, AT vs skilled chopper, everything vs accurate jet bomber, etc.

I heartily agree with this idea. There have been a couple of times when I've spawned with the wrong kit when I've come into the game and not realised what was going on. For example, I normally play engy (apc/tank whore) but sometimes there's no vehicles left and there's not much use running into Karkand with a shottie. In these cases, I would normally find a squad, suicide and tag along but changing kit is def-o preferable.

Another good thing about the DF kit-change is you can see immediately how many snipers/support/meds/etc. your team has so you're not as likely to be over-run with snipers.

I think this would be a fantastic idea, although I think you're right in that it wouldn't ever be implemented.

The number of times I'va banged my mouse while on the spawn screen and spawned as a medic on an AF map is just wrong.

really, it's to allow players to keep up with the pace of the game.

and it makes sense logically. the supply box can resupply every class, which means it has every available weapon in it. why couldn't a sniper pick up an assault rifle if it's already in the box?

That particular example would present the problem of the guy getting changed in the middle of a battlefield. No Ghilli (sp?) suit for assault!

In other words, where would he get his armour from?

i should have specified that the kit change would be complete. you may not mix and match between classes, so no ghillie suit for assaults.

he'd get his armor from the box, the almighty supply box.

i'd like to switch kits using mr. ammo crate and get to choose what i want but remember those little green duffle bags that are all other ground? sometimes you can pick that kit up and get what you want, however its usually a goddamn medic pack when i need to spam with a medium machine gun... aaahh greek tragedy

Like when you pick up a kit bag off the floor and get all excited cos it's a gun you haven;t unlocked yet, and then before you get a chance to try it out the original owner blows you away with it.
