Holy shit.. what kind of pussy ammo is he using ? The last time I saw one of those things fired (ok, it was an M82, but still, same rifle basically, as I understand it) it knocked the shooter two feet back, FROM A PRONE POSITION ! My cousin who teaches shooting these things carries a bolt gun in the casing with his Barret so he can bolt it down before shooting it !ssonrats wrote:

Listen to AWP in CS: Source, remember it kills in one shot and then throw away M95. It's a no-headshot gun, so I do not like it.
hmm I love the G3

I like the BF2 sound better, although that one does sound intimidating.
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
the M85A1 sounds awesome up close
That would make me feel like zeus, i cant believe it isnt a 1 shot 1 kill weap!ssonrats wrote:

even with the freeball barrel if you hold it wrong you can shatter your shoulder to fuck and backCbass wrote:

You should do your research...the Barret has a new form or recoil compensation so that the rifle can be fired in relative succession without having to realign one's bead on the target with the horrendous recoil from a "conventional" .50 cal sniper rifle. That was a demonstration of the fact that you can fire it without being prone...I think there was a discovery channel special on this rifle where they discussed the whole spring system included in the rifle so that five rounds could be fired quickly blabh blabh blhab....Twist wrote:

i was watching 60 minutes in australia they were talkin about AUS forces hunting the taliban and the reporter was telling us about the 50 cal ontop of the hmmv's and shes like "it doesent even have to hit u .. to kill u" i think she said stand within 8 feet of its impact and the shockwave will tear u in half not sure if it was 8ft ... but it was sumthing like datMekstizzle wrote:
Yeah in the game, but imagine those in real life. Just like how people are talking about that .50 sniper in real life. It would wreck things up pretty bad.PRiMACORD wrote:
Yeah, too bad they take like 2-3 hits to kill someoneMekstizzle wrote:
You guys are like "omg .50 cal sniper"
You do realise that they have full auto .50 cals on Hummers/Jeeps/Tops of tanks right? Now that's what i'm talking about.
That's almost what it sounded like on DC...Oh DC how I miss you so.
if a .50 caliber projectile passes within like a couple inches of your skin, the shockwake can burn/take off the skin

The bullets need a better sound echo. Those make the gun sound awesome, that's one of the only reasons I like the L96.
Wooo!
Sweet.
Sweet.
All sounds in BF2 are shit for weapons. DC did the best with weapon sounds for that engine. Cant wait for some mod to fix up the sounds for the weapons. I think USI did but I cant remeber. I know PRMM did.
I only remembered a little bit of it. Freefloating barrel with heavy coiled springs. The US military has only ever gone to 3 civilian gun manufacturers to produce a weapon for them. Barret is the third I think. The sniper rifle he produced...the one were talking about now, is supposed to use armor piercing explosive ammo. I remember one quote from him "If you get hit at all by this gun, you will go down." The Discovery channel episode showed them firing into 1 and a half inch steel plates (it might have been 2inch not sure) with "regular" non explosive AP rounds. He still managed to put a hole in to the plate. All rounds were expelled in a matter of like five seconds. It was truly awesome.iPoon.be wrote:

I apologize for any inaccuracies that I might have put in. I don't think there were any but again this was from a show I saw months ago.

oooooo damn that sounds good!!!
I seen a show on the Military Channel about that gun. I cant believe how far it can shoot.. and the bullet is HUGE.
I think someone in that show said they had a confirmed story of an enemy literally getting cut in half by one of those rounds... also a decapitation was reported.

> In the M82A1 Terminal Ballistics Demo video I got from a Marine friend, with 100 feet of elevation the range of even the standard .50 BMG round is 7450 yards, not to mention the longer range of some of the higher powered rounds. Now,that is not saying it can be fired accurately enough to kill a man at that distance, the longest recorded single-shot kill was something like 2800,and that was Carlos Hathcock. He was said to have bolted a scope onto a .50 Browning machine gun,and loaded it with a single round, and shot an NVA officer in the eye socket,he stood up into the shot after bending down to tie his boot. If things were right, the L96A1 would be the first unlock, then the M95,which is just a slightly shorter version of the M82A1,and has the magazine well behind the trigger guard. I like both the L96 and the M95,but feel like I'm more accurate with the L96,especially on longer range shots, like from the Construction Site tower in Oman to the flags on the beach, rarely have I had the chance to hit someone from over 300m. My accuracy is not real great period, right now it's about 37%,but was 22-23 before I got the L96,I haven't been playing that long and only have 1350 global. I do like defending a flag by killing a chopper pilot with the M95 though. Tommy D.
Ya it should sound like that and it should also split a man in half when you get a torso hit and be able to disable a fav in one shot but guess what its a video game so it doesnt
The actual longest confirmed kill was a canadian in afganistan who shot a taliban fighter at about 2,400 metres with a 50 cal, his sniper team set and broke the record several times on that mission.
