I have spent the past 4 days trying to find an Aussie server where I can join a half (not whole) half decent squad without being in a clan.

I have been told on numerous occasions "get out clan squad only" "Dont use voip I dont like people talking" or just plain ignored as a squad member while the squad leader runs about in planes choppers and the like.

I see so many people on here preaching about team play and "squadding up" and "dont worry about stats just worry about winning the round"

Where the hell are you guys or are you all a figment of my overactive imagination??

As you can see my stats bite the big one but I could care less, my aim in game is to kill as many bad guys as possible while assisting my team and squad to WIN THE ROUND!!

If any Aussies are about over the next few hours leave a message here, I would love someone to play with who can make the game fun rather than joining a squad and still having to play like a lone damn wolf.

Try this:

Make a squad, then, as squad leader, rename it to "Teamwork/VOIP" or something similar, and if there are like-minded players around, they'll probably join up with you.

On a public server where you know no-one, that's as good a way as any to get a good squad together. Even better though is to find a friend and make a squad with them (use x-fire, Teamspeak or whatever to track him down). Talk to one another over VOIP and you'll encourage other people to join in.

the problem I find is that I don't have VOIP and therefore when you find a squad that works in a team you get kicked out because you can't talk back and in the middle of a firefight you can't type nearly fast enough

Man even us Aussies can get headsets cheaper than that mine was $3.95 at Safeway and normally our US bretheren get shit heaps cheaper than us

I can accept no VOIP but having a squad of 6 INDIVIDUALS who play as INDIVIDUALS just felches my goat!!!

but then hey who am I to argue about the anti teamwork 733t h4x0r tactics of the BF2 community

(I was going to say 13 year old mentality in there somewhere however my last "squad leader" who proceeded to TK his squad to get into an F15 was 32 like myself so maybe stereotyping the young is no longer fair)

Well i'm from a nice fairytale country called the netherlands and we do team up....Some call it a Myth, but there is a rumor it actually exists (and we all owe the teamplayspirit to our GURU Guus Hiddink).

how can you get those stats i dont get it. its not about winning just getting a positive kill:death ratio. you DONT help your team by getting more deaths than kills. try getting a ak-101 on karkand and prone-crouch-jump-repeat

I do have a headset but for some very frustrating reason the most i can get out of it is feedback and static...

Squads make the game more enjoyable and much mroe likely for your team to win if you are playing as a 'team' but some of my best scores have been achieved as a 'Lone Wolf'.

im always looking for a person to join my squad. as long as you're a medic whore, we can rape just about any infantry map, and if you're not predjudice against Anti-Tank, we could kick arse on the vehicle maps... its just no-one ever joins my team... and when they DO join, there all Pvt.1stClass and have no clue how to walk properly, let alone use teamwork

as for VOIP, the last half-decent person who joined my team came second on 5 maps in a row (me on top, of course ) and not a word other than "Thanks" was ever uttered...

JOIN ME, and together, we shall reek havoc on the Lost Division server *evil laugh*

I tag up with friends (we aren't *really* a clan as such, we just tag for solidarity) but we have no problem with other people joining our squad as long as they don't then run off by themselves. Often after a good round when we get best squad, next game, a whole lot of players join. Tis good, tis good.

I have been running about on the LD servers a bit lately and having a good ol time. Been gunning in tanks with Crimson6 and just generally making a pain in the arse of myself

As for my stats well the hard fast answer is this:
My GFX card is lame, I cant see as far, as fast or keep up real well graphically as a lot of players and bottom line I just aint that good . However i dont see why this is important, I enjoy the game, I enjoy playing with others and I do my utmost to help my squad and team to perform as best they can..as for your K ratio etc I know mine sux but I really dont care that much as long as i enjoy the game and enjoy my time away from my real life (bills etc). I spent enough time in the army to satisfy my need for a good K ratio for the rest of my life. (Im still alive therefore my r/l K;D ratio is pretty damn good as far as Im concerned)
