What is the fascination with these two vehicles? I have had one of the worst days on BF2, mainly because of helos and airplanes. On Operation harvest, I was trying to save the helo base flag, I saw five blue dots on the helo pad, three waiting for the little bird, and two for the attack chopper. As the flag went down, they did not move an inch. They just stood there waiting for their arcade birds. As we moved to the other maps, same thing. More people standing by the hangars for airplanes than people out capturing flags. So what is it? Points? Stupid fake computer medals and ribbons? E-Penis extension? What? because whether you know it or not, you guys are destroying the game play for a lot of people.

I Dunno, I Guess They are Fun. I Mainly Fly in Circles in the Blackhawk Over an Enemy Base, Causing a Distraction, And Often Running the Enemy Over.

If they are on Teamspeak with clan-members or friends, they actually prove to be an important asset to the team.

i think i have played with you on some servers marine. i think moongamers oman or lacantina or utac AF/EF.
i totally know what you mean. i hate it when ppl plane or heli whore and wont do anything else. HEY GENUIS"S THE VEHICLE WONT SPAWN IF ITS NOT YOUR BASE!
i love heli's and jets as much as the next guy but if the base is being capped by a lone assualt trooper that is hiding in some dumb corner then i am sure as hell going to unload my MK3 into his face.
plus be a nice guy if you see 2 guys who are on a squad together and want to pilot the helis or bomber let them. dont be a jackass and jump in a heli with some stranger if you see him waiting with someone.
personally i check to see if the pilot and gunner are in the same squad because i know the when i fly a heli i need my gunner to be looking at the same thing i am. {/rant}

I enjoy flying jets a lot but I don't stand around with other guys waiting for one. I'll (1) switch teams, (2) try to play commander or (3) find another server. If you really like to fly then play on servers that have fewer people on them.

Attack Helicopters are the work horse of the battlefield. They are flying tank busters. They are fun. They have a ton of weapons. They are EXTREMLY agile. They are sleek. They are fast. They can do it all.
I agree. But you can't do crap when you lose your helo base.

He isn't saying the vehicles suck, hes saying the people waiting at the pads while the flag was going down were all asshats.

Yea, I hate it when half my team runs up the chopper to see who can get it first. If I see that, oh well, find the nearest APC or tank and drive away. If I'm on the other team, and in a plane, however, I love it. Why? Free kills!
The only time I actually wait for a chopper is when I have a good competent gunner, and i was just previoulsy downed from the chopper I'm waiting for. That way I know it will spawn, and spawn soon.

The way I do it is usually I join up in a squad w/ the pilot as the squad leader. That way when the helo dies, the pilot goes to the pad to wait for the helo, while the gunner goes out and does something useful, when the helo spawns, pilot lifts off, either picks up the gunner or the gunner goes on a kamikaze run or something then spawns inside the helo.
