Question about badges...

Okay, so I am a sniper whore. I've been playing that and nothing but for a long time. M95 through the cockpit window is love...

Well yesterday I realized I need a bunch of basic badges if I'm ever gonna get to the next rank, and I'm going to try to pick them off one at a time. Got the SpecOps yesterday and I'm going to work on Engineer tonight.

I noticed however that I have several requirements already met for some intermediate level badges, without having the basic stuff met. I might have the 20 hours (or whatever) for the veteran badge but didn't get the 10 kills in a round deal way back in the day.

So let's say I get 10 kills in a round tonight, do I get both the basic and veteran badges at once, or do I have to do something more, or am I screwed, or what's the story?

yeah you get them both in 1 round as long as u meet the time req. and the kill req. IAR

what's your PID so we can see?
i am assuming it is your name so; you need all of the IAR requirements which you can see by accessing your stats here on BF2s.

you will first be awarded the basic and then the veteran since basic is around 10 kills (or 7) and veteran is 20

no, to get veteran badges, you have to play 15h total with that soldier class. Then get so many kills after that

I don't know my PID but you can put my name in (it's the same in the game) and it'll show you.

And please take it easy on me. I was a HORRIBLE noob. I started playing online instead of learning offline. I would go rounds without a kill. I sucked in the worst of all ways. my stats still blow as a result.

I've actually considered starting a new name to get rid of the statistical embarassment.

yes but afther the 15h you need 20 kills IAR and if you havent even got the basic you will get basic after you killed 10 people (IAR) and veteran after 20 (IAR)

so if you need both basic and veteran and you got 15h total for a kit and get 20 kills in a round you will get both basic and veteran

keep it and play for fun, the medals and the rest are just icing, not the cake.

Ok, you only need basic badges to rank up to First Sergeant and Sergeant Major, which are both optional ranks. The only time you will ever need badges to progress through the ranks is when you reach Colonel.

Looked you up on BF2player - dude you have ALOT of everything to go after - I'm envy of you bc I remember those days ( I know I still have some stuff to go after but I'm working on that ) You have alot of work ahead of you but its all worth it, this game wouldn't be what it is if they didn't also give goals for ppl to work toward ie. badges ribbons medals
If you want 1st Sarge you better hustle on the basic badges

Here's one more question: Let's say you're a medic, but you're riding around in an APC whacking people, do you still get credit toward the Medic badge? Seems like a disingenuous way to grab an award and I don't think I'd do it that way, but I just wondered...
