Not providing any details regarding the name or site of the hack, but those who know the name/site know what I am talking about.

Playing last night and find out that "someone" was calling in artillery constantly with -0- wait period, the same amount of time that is advertised at the website.

My question is:  How do you tell who is actually calling in the artillery if the arty kills shows up as the "listed" commander?

I remember in a previous post somoene said something about "check who is dropping supply crates" but the same rule applys to the supply crates as the arty requests.

On a side note:  You would think that EA/DICE would now have legal action against someone who was "selling" their hack (ie reverse engineering to determine the exploit in conflict with EULA) rather than someone who was "giving" it away for free.

Edit:  Is there something on the backend server side that could tell you or bf2cc for the matter?  Im just not familar with the server side or bf2cc.

Yeah, I know it. And i think there would be something on the serverside, i'm sure some clientside memory slots and transferred over and one or the other is diff. And if server keeps logs, I'm sure there'd be an arty/supply call log (if we knew how to read 'em)

From what i have heard, EA/Dice are watching servers for hackers such as this one and are keeping logs of every single one they find for about a month or two, something like that. After that time period, every player they have caught and logged will find there game unable to join any EA sanctioned servers, or pretty much any ranked server.

Based on the information I saw on the website, PB was banning based on past conflicts.  They said that they could get around it, but a few people were ticked that they were banned and cant get it to work.

From another source, I am hearing that PB will start issuing bans based on hardware, which should be harder to spoof for your average kiddie.  But Im assuming that hackers will find a way around it and publish a script that all the kiddies can download.

The problem is that this same hack (which I was also a victim of last night) is undetectable by PB.  It even includes a way to get you unbanned by PB.  This is what they say...

"has completely new anti PB technology, as well as a very spiffy HW spoofer/unbanner, which lets you "auto-magically" unban yourself and play on PB servers again with a new cdkey. There is 2 options for this cheat. The first option is "I am already HW banned, I have nothing to lose" Which institutes complete anti PB code, with SS protection, HW GUID spoofing, and much more. The second option is "I am not banned, and would like to keep it that way" Which is the same hack as above, without anything that is considered a serious violation to PB. (guid/hw spoofing or SS protection)."

From what I've been reading on the Arty\Supply cooldown exploit the problem is that the cooldown is mandated on the client side and not the server side.  If thats the case then PB may not be able to do anything about it and EA will have to release a hotfix for it.

Undetectable by PB?  Maybe.  If you read further into the replys for that thread, you'll see that people are complaining that they either cant be unbanned or were not banned to begin with and are now currently banned.

another problem with the commander hack is that those commands are issued client-side rather than server-side, so PB has no way of detecting who's really calling in the artillery or supply boxes.  EA could (seemingly) easily change this to a server-side setting so only the real commander could issue those commands.
