hey guys...I know this is not BF2 related but this is the most knowledgeable/helpful community I know of.

I built a brand-new computer a month and a half ago.  My chat client of choice is AIM.  My problem is, since the first day I got my comp up and running, AIM will randomly crash.  It does not seem as though anything I do will trigger it.  Sometimes it's while I'm in BF2.  Sometimes I'm browsing the web.  Sometimes it's while I'm actually using AIM.

I do use Trillian Pro, so I'm not without chat, but I prefer AIM.  If you know how to fix this, please help me.

thank you

I wish I could run BF2 and AIM at the same time...

Anyways, are you on a network? I find that sometimes when I'm online and my brother's comp gets signed off of normal AOL it kicks me internet connection offline.

I'm on a network, yes.  Just my wife's lappy and my computer.  But it will happen when no one is even touching her computer.

I'd say you have trillian, use that.  It's a better program in my opinion.

An alternative is to use gaim which can connect to AIM network amongst other things.  It may not be your cup of tea but at the very least, it is completely free.  I have completely given up using AOL's official client and I cannot stand Trillian's setup.  But that's just me.
