just curious...I play lone wolf almost exclusively.  Any benefits to playing squad if you don't use a mic (besides spawning on squad leader)?
I play in a squad, but that's because I play alot of the teamplay roles (medic, support, engineer or spec-ops) Other then that, I take assault, and sniper time from time to get rid of some infantry.

Well it all depends on the server and whos there if your running with abunch of dumb asses then yes I would go lone wolf, but if you have people that know how to play then there are great atvantages to being in a squad, less death (if there is amedic) and an unlimited amount of ammo (if there is a support).  And you can take out just about everthing that you come across.  Down side you are a bunch of red dots all together, to the commander this forms a big bullseye for art. If I play as a defensive sniper I most of the time lone wolf it, because im off on a hill or hidden some where there is no need for me to be in a squad.

I used to play lone wolf quite a bit but now that I am in a good clan and there is ts, I play in a squad almost exclusively.

Squad: even if you don't intend to play with them you at least have an option of where to spawn and sometimes it'll be just before an important flag cap, e.g. TV Station on Sharqi, and you can get a capture assist, maybe mop up a few last defenders (who may be asleep and don't realise, gotten a few nice knife kills that way) and then help defend it.

I have played total of  ~360 hours  and ~5 hours as a lone wolf. You do the math.

Lone wolfs frustrate any commander. As a lone wolf you are unable to hear warnings of incoming artillery. strikes.I really don't understand why thats a good thing.

Even If the squad is not working together I don't want to be team switched so I stay in a squad.   I play sniper more than anything else now, but I do make an effort to be a team player and cover the area that my squad is in (help cap flags or spot & pick off enemies).

If you're in a squad you don't get team-switched?  Awesome!  Last few nights I've been getting team-switched regularly and I curse out loud every time.  Time to squad up I guess

Most of the time, lone wolfs get switched first then squad members and then squad leads but thats the auto balance system(squad leads likely never get switched automagicaly).  Some servers the admins have taken to swiching people to stack there team (particulary clan servers) so you can't always think that joining a squad will save you the hasle.

I always check the squads first but often I end up being lonewolf.

If the squad has an order I will most usually stay, otherwise I will leave. Without orders, the squad will be spread out all over the map in no time.

Lonewolfing doesn't necessarily mean you don't do teamwork. A lonewolf is much more light footed. The guys who takes flags behind enemy lines are often lonewolfs or 1-man squad. They get there in notime as soon as the get a DPV, and are more stealthy. Full squads get artied because they take too much time to evade the area once they've taken the flag.
