I used to think that having the shootout was the way to go, but the more I play I realize that I almost never win the gun battle when I shoot 2nd. Maybe I'm not just getting "lucky". When I first started playing I used to grab a grenade and hope that I got it thrown at the dude before I died, but half the time the grenade didn't go off and the other times he'd have enough time to run from the nade AND i still died so that's out of the question anymore. Nowadays my best option has been to run to the near cover. If I'm 20ft from the nearest corner or cover I'll try and run everytime. You'll probably get shot up at least half your health, but at least you're still alive to try and get healed and sneak up on the bastard or other enemies. You're also buying time from running from a bad situation to maybe have a teammate save your life. If the enemy is busy trying to shoot the running target, he's not noticing your teammate flanking his position to cap his camping ass. Just one man's opinion. Feel free to flame.

I would run away FAST when i'm a sniper and drop some clays while im speeding away
always spawn as AT . That way you just hit him with a SRAW in the face, sometime u get fragged too, but wtf, its fun

Often you can just totally take the piss out of a tank by sprinting from side to side and jumping over the shells.
Same goes with infantry, speed is your friend.
And what I would do in that situation if I had a decent weapon, I would strafe round the guy, as normally that will make him miss a shot or two while all my shots hit him.
Also its quite funny to just jump over him and shoot him in the bum.

I go and kill him, depends on the kit, I am a little bit more weary if im a sniper, I run once, try to no scope him, then run back around the corner, setup a claymore, and wait behind the claymore with my pistol.
