It's not that a good comp helps, it that a bad one holds you down.
If you can get sub 80 ping, load in less then 5 minutes (heh) and get atleast 40 FPS with geometry on high, everything else on low/off and view distance at 100 then you can't get much better.
Everything else is smoke and mirrors.

We'll unlike you, I prefer to live in Reality and not in a fantasy world. The people that cheat in online games always say the same worn out remarks and statements. Burying your head in the sand and saying online multiplayer pc gaming hacking/cheating isnt crippleing gaming as we know it forever, is not the way to exterminate it from the future of PC gaming.dontfeedthenerd wrote:
I corrected your statement for you.
You're welcome.
Aimbots, wallhacks and various other little nasty things are reality in todays gaming world. The game companies will feel the pinch even more as the years go on. So you can say skill and experience all you like.. if you believe your statements, I have some lovely ocean front property to sell you here in Minnesota.
I enjoy playing a game for relaxation and fun. I do not type/talk when im in servers, even though I might know I was just aimbot headshot while my enemy was doing a dolphin dive while shooting me, and my whole clip didnt even touch a hair under his helmet. Don't help these people hide in the shadows by denying its not a HUGE problem in online gaming today. I have my opinions and you have yours...mine are correct though.
Well I just installed a new graphics card last night that let me go from all low to all high settings, and so far I haven't had a round with a negative kdr, which I used to get all the time. Ive played for about 5 hours since installing, so I would have to say yes.
As long as the old computer didnt run the game at 10 fps then not really. The only reason people start playing better is if the old computer rank like ass at 15 fps constantly and they suddenly went to a new machine which got them smooth frame rates ofcourse you'll do better.
I would say YES! If you got a computer that lags every other second and gets a new one that DOESENT lagg at all this would improve your gaming.....(PS:more ram helpes alot if your comp. lags just to say that!)
I play everything on low, with lag eventually im not a bad player though
Yep it does. 2 months ago, I had a shitty pc which lagged like hell when I was playing bf2.
All the time playing this game has made me a better player, but the new pc also has some positive influence on my gaming performance.

Um.. Your KDR has moved from .9373 to 1.055 over the last 30 days.. your KDR hasnt been at .8 since January.... and youve never been up to 1.1Jestar12345 wrote:
So heres the Question....
I got a New PC about a Month Ago, and My K : D ratio has gone up from 0.8 to 1.1.
Is this a Result of a New Computer, or am I Just getting Better?
Also, if you think it's not my PC, then what rank do you think is the bit where you start getting better?
My Vote would be for Sgt Major.
Cheers,
Jestar12345
Ping times have NOTHING to do with how good your computer is. As long as you can run a resonable frame rate, your PC has nothing to do with skill level. Its what you get used to folks....
EDIT
I noticed that you Team kill/Damamage stats have gone up a lot over the last 30 days.. This is usually and indication that you've been flying a lot. So I would attribute your rise in KDR to the fact that you are flying more/Getting better as a pilot.

Defiantly a better PC helps. Less lag and see everything clearer. I havea pretty crap PC so I have more lag than most people and sometimes plants look like people. Luckily I'm upgrading soon so should be better.
You start to get good at about 25,000 i think.

Make you play better? No. Help you play better? Yes.
A good computer that can hold BF2 for more than 10 minutes without going back to desktops fine with me. Wait thats every computer
No not really. If you're bad you're bad, if you're good you're good. The only thing that changes that is how much you play. All a better PC does is allow you to realize the full potential of the skill you have. Same with any new peripherals like a joystick or a better mouse. They don't have any inherint power to make you better simply by being plugged in, they just help you get closer to 100% potential.
if you really think that the rank when you start getting better is sgt major, i think it had not depended on your pc that you were so bad -.- i personally have a positive KDR, WLR, SPM since corporal or sergeant (and its not my second account)
Thank you. That's exactly the answer to his question (and the answer I was going to give)Not wrote:

A good computer cannot make a bad player better, but a bad computer can make a good player worse.

The better hardware allows you to increase your skill because of better frame rates.
And now comes the factor experience into play. Meanwhile i'm close to 1000 hours of ranked BF2, i don't know how many hours i spent on the Demo Version, on unranked Servers or on crashing ranked servers that didn't report the stats after that. I play in Leagues and therefore i play nearly exclusively infantry only. As you practice and practice your skill increases and increases. You get better and you're able to place headshots on a regular basis.elLOCOmutha wrote:

I don't know how many times i've been already called a cheater, because i was playing good and able to kill players who're maybe not soooo good. On the other side, if someone is able to kill me once, twice or 100 times i know that something happened, and this is clearly the other guy got more luck (if it's happened maybe once or twice) or he is simply better than me.
I don't call them cheater/hacker/whatever due to one simply reason, there are just really good players out there.
On the other hand, i don't deny that there are cheaters out there, but i honestly never experienced one and if, he was one of the worst players because he would have even sucked with aid by tools.
Now i take a look at your stats (I suppose it's your stats you show in your profile), you spent 112 hours in BF2 and your stats really show that you're 1.) new to the game and 2.) not good at the game (at least until now).
If you "maybe" one day got the motivation to invest enough time into this game, so that you'll get maybe really good you'll discover that there are players out there who are able to place headshot after headshot.
And please don't forget ping issues, if there is a player with a 15ms ping and you got something like a 100ms ping do you know what happens in the game? He uses his ping advantage and kills you with bodyshots. You die suddenly and think he placed a headshot on you because it was so incredible quick. No, it was the ping difference...
Now please join the "reality" (if you can call a PC game this) and leave your fantasy world of everyone cheating who's just better than you.
And a last one: Do you make sports? If yes do you make competitive sports? Do all your opponents use doping because they're better than you?
Right, do you have any proof about your statement that it's a HUGE problem? Dude, maybe you just don't know where the hitbox goes when they hit prone and zap you in the face w/ the pkm. You realize that BF2 allows you to do that right? Intsaprone for the accuracy benefits while your hitbox instantly hits the ground. We'll unlike you, I prefer to live in Reality and not in a fantasy world. There are hacks out there, but they are not aimbots. BF2 calculates all collision detection server side I believe. which means, it's hard to make an aimbot like for CS:S.
Are there exploiters who hide inside Karkand's hotel? Yea.
Is it possible that maybe you just didn't aim right and think the dude who instaproned and beaned you in the face was a cheater? Yea, that's possible too.
The possibility that the guy who just killed you is just far more skilled than you is much greater than the possibility that he is a hacker who has no skill. I mean try it sometime, get the pkm, fire away and hit the prone button.
I'd say that having a better PC helps, but I wouldn't go as far as saying that anyone who has a good PC has a better chance over someone else who may not have as new a system. For me my RAM and graphics card have made all the difference.
How can you say someone who can tweak their settings in order to see further than me, for example, see me but I can't see him, not have a distinct advantage?KtotheIMMY wrote:
