My absolut favorit spot is ontop the mosque in Mashtur City. There are still quite a lot of people who don´t know how easy it is to go there and you have a great cover from almost every direction (and as long you are US you don´t even have to fear attacks from above ^^).
I have to say ontop of the buildings in Karkand are the last place people look... I know rooftops are bad, but in a map like Karkand... Come on, no ones looking for snipers on the rooftops...
get an APC on the ramp and you can pick peeps off at the crane..

on karkand? honestly i've never been found up on those roofs on karkand... no one ever looks up on karkand, u go around like the square and stuff no one's looking up cuz they're too busy looking around on the ground at everyone shooting at them.
Karkand...sniper...you retarded? These guys are bum-rushed and they very quickly change kits. Might get a couple kills before they come down the hill, but thats it. People throwing nades and 203ing the whole sight, its unbelieveable that they dont' find you. Now if you have a squad going for the MEC main then maybe get 3 kills before they knife you. Usually I find the Karkand maps I'm in the US bum-rushes in 4 places with about 5-6 guys apiece, arty might get 1/3. If I'm wrong tell me a the ultimate way to snipe at Karkand.
I find that Sharqi Penisuula is the hardest to snipe....I snipe almost all the time at Karkand.
I do not consider myself to be the best sniper, but you could look up my stats as Ogopogo15.

The best spot to snipe is not at the crane, or on roof tops because like many said, that is where people look at for snipers plus the helicopter gunners scan roof tops, and its possible that enemy anti tank units use rooftops to sniping, destroy apc's and stuff. When I play sniper, the best area is the construction site. Because the inside is very dark, however concealment is I think the number one thing a sniper should worry about in Sharqi. The construction site, is very good, because your ghilli suit is dark, and the inside is not very lighted.
Karkand is the best maps for me to snipe. It's at Karkand where I got both my veteran and basic sniper badge, and I do not use vehicles. Ive gotten up to 35 kills up in there! And many "Flag Defends".

I always wait till a enemy is close to the barrel, then one shot on the barrel and Boom goes the MEC Soldier .

When I'm up the crane and somebody shoots at me, whether he hits me or not, I know where to look and I'll probably shoot him/her first.
So even if you have spotted a sniper and have the surprise attack, you wont always kill him;).
This happend to me alot lately, its all about who can get a clear shot the fastest.

i have found the best place ever on sharqi. and the only thing i am going to tell is that its not on a building/crane
I think snping is worth crap...because...you can't get point fast enough, there is always counter sniping, I always seem to get killed by a g36c from long range fster than I could Snipe them off.
So I just gave it up.

I think I've been drinking too much beer then when I play then because I get sniped from cranes/buildings/grass/toilets and bathtubs. I always look up when I hear that 'shot' when I'm near (IF he/she isn't aiming at me).
There is nothing better then having a good sniping round. I found a sweet spot on Fushe pass, interesting, because it was in a structure with no foliage, and it wasn't nessisarily a high place. From it, you couldn't see too far, but it was a throughfare. I planted a claymore to make sure no-one snuck up on me, which worked, and just had a blast knocking those tenpins down.
To be a good sniper is one of the hardest skills in the game. Don't nessisarily follow the hints everyone gives, just find what works for you, which may be an assortment of tips coupled by a few things that people just don't suspect.

i like the hills on sharqi and the construction site building. those r always nice for me, personally i pick the obvious places where people think snipers are supposed to be, but know they're not supposed to it works for me most of the time. other times i'm just on the ground a few meters away.
Okay...you must be playing with about 16 people that are lonewolfs then. Usually if someone gets killed by the supposed best crane crap, theres the all seeing eye (commander) and I'm pretty sure if you kill me and your still up there I'm definately going to point you out. there is a hidden place where you can get open shots at anyone on the crane in sharqi.

actually several top snipers play Karkland solely... and strangely enough they have 2-3+ k/d's
I'm not a good sniper by any means, but when the snipers keep getting I will go sniper to get rid of them. I was on Sharqi Penisula on Saturday and there were two atop the TV Station. I went sniper and snuck into the hills just behind the fence with the opening. Used one of the scrub bushes on the ground to hide my presence and just picked off the snipers from the roof. Even as bad as I am I got a few sniper kills.
I most certainly will not use the crane or on top of buildings. The crane in Sharqi and buildings in Karkand are the first place I go to get a few knife kills.

One thing about that crane.
If your on the top on the white catwald in the middle your body will show through the bottom and you can be shot from underneath.

I killed a sniper on the crane a Sharqi with my pistol from the stairs right under it... I used an entire clip hittng the little parts of him showing. He never thought to look straight down...

Shouldnt get used to a certain location, as people will come and search you there more often. Relocate, be everywhere, move move. Thats the key!
