Well I need some help w/ localizatoin files. I tried some basic stuff, and was semi-successful. I was playing with this chap, and every time he was dead he would have "::OWNED::" highligted in orange text before anything he said, I was wondeirng how to do it. I've looked and can't find, and was un-successful. Here is a screenshot.

ok, go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Localization\English then open in the option it auto gives u, so its open in word then go to the absolute bottom.  u'll see country on the left, so go up until that stops. then go up about a page and a half till u see HUD_CHAT_DEADPREFIX on the left hand side.  then to the right of it in between the box thingys insert ::§C1001OWNED§C1001:: .  should do it i believe.

Aight thanks, I asked if people could see the orange message, but they said no. Were they just being asshats or can other people see it? THe guy in the screenshot had orange font, so my localization files were still virgin.

In a nutshell: Does the orange pwned message show up for them?

Should say something like HUD_YOUKILLED_MESSAGE or something to that effect and put this in place of "killed" in the right box §C1001OWNED§C1001.

What? No, hes text hud text is different.
It says:
MaCGP Wileypube: ::OWNED:: HISMESSAGEHERE...
And the ::OWNED:: part is orange. He said he got it from here... ;-(

Edit: It's only like that when hes dead.

Eveything was fine, BUT does it show for others? Because I asked and the people in the server if they saw it and they said no. But then again, they could of been asshats and lied.

it should...but u could see it?

im assuming the "tommy::OWNED:: ur all gay" wud be viewed by all even the OWNED part

if u want we can go on a server now and ill tell u if i see it

You are the only one that see's it, its Localisation = Local


Out there is some downloadable code(i guess you can call it) that will alter it for you so you dont have to stuff around urself.

Ive changed mine, but just tells me how i was Tked, and shows (+2) for a cap or etc. plus some exttra pretty colors.

Recommend finding some altered Localisation by "Saladfork"

then how do u explain how twolves saw the owned in the guys name up top in the screeny?

p.s. how do u change the colour of ur crosshair?

Just go to options, and you have to adjust the RBG scales (Red, Blue, Green) as to your likings.
