My PC died a couple of weeks ago so I've ordered a new rig,
do you think it will do the trick?

ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe PCI-Express Mainboard

2048MB DDR400 Memory - PC3200 (2x1024)

500GB (2x 250GB Serial ATA Hard Drives)

SONY 16x Dual Layer DVD-Re-Writable +R/-R/RW

2x 512MB nVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX- nVIDIA SLI

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 4 Sound Card

ASUS WL 138G 802.11G/B Wi-Fi PCI Card

Slash the two 7900GTX's and grab a 7950. If you're willing to put up with a slightly higher price, go with an AM2 X2:

Memory: Corsair XMS2 2x1GB DDR2 800 CAS 3-4-3-9.
Motherboard: an asus 570 if you just want one video card, 590 if you want two.

but you should have got an opteron and ddr500 ram. These systems really come alive with a little OCing.

over all, I say it's solid. good RAM, good GPU. I'd recommend a larger case for simple air flow and cooling reasons, but I think that will make itself very apparent very soon. I also think faster RAM would have been a good choice, though I understand that faster RAM = looser memory timings which at a high enough level negates the faster RAM in the first place ... but I digress. good home build.

I always hate posts like these, you don't think a 3000$ + rig isn't going to do the "trick" , and also the posts are always just to flaunt on how 1337 their rig will be. And also, you need a stronger PSU, 7900s consume a lot of wattage, especially with your intended rig, itll look like a 550+ won't be enough

No, AM2 is equally priced with 939. Unless you buy the M2N32-SLI which is like $200. All the procs and most of the mobos are equally or lowerpriced. DDR2 is going down in price as well.

BECAUSE ati en nvidea will come up with there new chipsets!!!

Replace that soundcard with a X-Fi card!

The X-fi fitality (or something like that) that card is made for gamers and it got a memory!

sO u better wait until the summer has ended, the prices will drop! and new videocard chipsets!

And buy an am2 socket because the stopped producing the 939 chipset
