Can´t start BF2!

You´ve all heard about this before...

I start my BF2, the logo comes up, it turns black and then I crash into the desktop!

I´ve read all the threads, at this forum about this problem. And done the exact same thing, but nothing works!

Today I succeeded to take a print screen on the error I get, when I try to launch the game..

Does anyone here know what it means?

I´ve reinstalled the game about 10 times, and reinstalled the whole OP several times. Tryed different patches, full etc. Have the newest drivers for everything. I can play the game before I patch it!!

Don´t you just love BF2

try installing bf2 without any booster packs just patch it to 1.3 and then try it. also updating your drivers wont hurt.

Looks like a DirectX problem... Have you tried installing a new version of DirectX ?
You might also just have a graphics card that doesn't support pixelshader 1.2... Remember you need at least a Geforce FX 5xxx or Radeon 8xxx (or is it 9xxx ?) to play the game. The actual requirements are on the back of your box, and in the game manual.

Did the game EVER work before ? If so you may have had some problems with a patch or conflicting program. Re-installing the game might help.

I´ve got a ATI x1600xt, the same as my friend, and his BF works great!!
And yes, as I wrote before, the game worked before I patched it!

Word I just started having this problem this morning. Game worked fine last night and I changed nothing.

My friend got the exact same graphic card and his works! arghhhh

Hmmm...seems I got that error before...checked dxdiag and sure enough, for some reason that particular part of the dl was an "older version" of the DX9c download...don't ask how that happened cause I can't tell you. Had to paste the error message in Microsofts help / support section...got it fixed. Give that a whirl.
