BF2S Forums 18 Knife Kills.

Knife and pistol only servers are not allowed by EA and if you are found on one your stats will be removed.  Oh and I got my expert ages ago.  I'm pretty good with a knife so it wasn't hard.  www.freewebs.com/bf2shankfest is my gallery.

I've gotten 14 Kills in a Round, twice. Once on Karkand, once on Sharqi. And I didn't exploit one little bit, so you can piss that opinion of yours right off, dshak.

18 is absolutely possible.

See, this just shows how naive you are.  18 knife kills in one round is absolutely attainable.  Most of the time it's based on luck over skill.  You have to get in a good position at the right exact time.  I obtained it by making suicide runs into the square base multiple times.  Would get 3 or more for every death and it only took me a little over half a round to get.  It's mainly luck, but partway skill.  There is another member in NAA that obtained it legitamitally.

I have to agree that the UAV is invaluable. Watch for enemy positions as well as the direction they are looking. Wait around the corner from them, watch the radar, once they turn away, run like a madman and you should have another knife kill under your belt. Spawn camping is also frowned on, but probably necessary when trying for a knife badge.

I havent played on any knife / pistol servers and to be honest, I would feel like the medal didnt mean a thing if I did. I still know the maps I got my basic / vet on - Sharqi basic and Karkand vet.

I hear EA may consider resetting stats for people playing on these servers - no worries for me, but I'm sure there are a lot of people out there with lots of medals and high scores thinking "god, I hope they dont reset my account".

7 kills for a basic or veteran is easily achievable - 18 kills... OK I'm still working on that one.

i got it!  today!  finally!

ok well actually i just got my vet knife badge today too.

anyway yeah, i found this server that only had about 30 people on it...i go in...and just messing around i get three knife kills in the first two minutes or so.  so then i start trying and end up with around 14.  i leave...check UBAR, and realize i only needed 4 more to get my expert...so i went back in and BAM!  expert knife badge.

i still have about 400 more kills to get with my pistol before i can even attempt the expert pistol badge though.

You simply can't get them easily unless someone sets you up for them.

Now, thats a great idea, flashbang and stabbing.Today i wanted my vet knife badge and got it easily.Really odd.I thought i would never get 7 Kills.It was a full 64 Karkand Server.Anyway, when i had the vet Badge, i went for the expert Badge in the next round.What happened? 17 Kills, the enemy had 2 Tickets , i ran to a guy and wanted to stab him, a teammate shot with his Jackhammer but instead of killing the guy i wanted to stab he killed me.If only he didn't shoot, i would have got my expert.I tried it the next few rounds.Only running around with a knife but all i could get were 8-13 Kills.I played Medic.No armor but self-healing and helping teammates (healing,reviving).

Yeah, i hate that too when two people make a knife fight and another guy comes around and wants to "help out"

Bullshit.
Wake is the best map to do it.
This map is so simple, you see a guy in the UAV and you can just flank him.
Without messing up with buildings, with stairs, with high walls.
Just go Wake be a squad leader or commander and make UAV's whever you are.
p.s.: go to 64 players server.

Well I haven't tried the 18 but I did find 10 rather easy when I was trying for the basic, haven't even pulled a knife since. But here's how I did it and quit pulling the knife when the round wasn't even halfway done (I was newbie, didn't know I had to get more). But be careful your precious K/D ratio will take a hit.  Karkand IS the best map for knives (it can be done on others, but being new at knives, it's easier on Karkand), Basically run down to the second flag and make your way back to the first, most of the people will have thier back turned. ---<< summary. Run past the second spawn to the second behind the first flag, then you'll see the spawn pt, wait about 3 secs and you'll have your first 3 knife kills, then book down the left to the first spawn (before the first flag) and you'll get 3 more, then head down the alleyway and you'll see the infamous spec ops thrower. and repeat. Knowingly getting killed numerous times but you'll have at least 10 kills that way.

In response to the person questioning the pistol badge being harder than the knife badge, its because when you attack someone with the knife, its quick, 1 hit, and uve usually surprised them. Whereas with the pistol, it takes a number of shots before the enemy goes down. They can easily turn around and shoot you or jump, dive, whatever to escape.

I got my basic knife badge (on Karkand) the other week then went to try and get the vet pistol badge on Ghost Town (7 kills IAR each), I found it a lot harder and could only get 5. 2 kills I would have got but I was 1 bullet short of killing them or they were shooting at me with a rifle! A lot of knife kills are opportunistic and quick, whereas the pistol requires more accuracy, skill and patience. (Why I havent got vet. pistol yet!)

There are two things I did to get the badge.  The first was to be commander, that way you can be selfish with the uav.  You need to be able to know where your victims are if you have a prayer at getting all 18 knife kills.  Plus you get the humiliating bonus of the gold text.  Everyone cleary sees you're a scary knife murderer.  The second thing I did that I think is vital was playing as a medic.  This way you get a big sprint bar + the ability to heal yourself so you can knife again.  It helps to play on a city map, preferably karkand because of all the blind alleys.  Finally, this is kind of cheap, but watch the team vs team ranks.  When I got the badge the other team's highest rank was a staff sergeant.  This + Karkand = golden opportunity to attempt it.  Needless to say I got the 18 knife kills with only 7 deaths.  Be paitent with this badge, don't force it.
