thats pretty much it..... since ive built my new rig...ive gone from running with no problem ..to some clicking sound thing and everything slows down...now the sound quit... its very frustrating ...so i was thinking would it be possible for me to put in an old(or new) harddrive with only linux and my games so any of the possible issues that may come up as a result of problems with windows and if so do you think i would gin any improvments this way...any input is appreciated

I don't think you can play BF2 on Linux even though most servers are run on it...

What Distro are you thinking about?

As for games on Linux, no.

No, only BF2 servers can be run on Linux.  The game itself won't work on Linux.

You could run a dual boot if you want...so you would have both Windows and Linux.

You can "run" it in Wine I believe, but you get like 2 FPS.

Just do dual boot or build another box.

Cedega runs BF2, but I've been unsuccessful in getting anything to run under cedega.  If you're new to linux, it will be easier to find your problem in Windows.  But don't let me discourage you.  It's a great way to learn.
