Well, I just thought that I'd post this if anybody was looking for a new mouse. I've been keeping an eye on the boards and discussion between the MX1000 and the G5. After a few weeks, I decided to dump my old optical mouse, and purchase the G5(went with it due to the usb chord). The MX felt just a bit better in my hand, but the weighting in the G5 sold me. First game with the new mouse, 34 sniper kills(no clays or vehicles) with 2/3 of our tickets left. Damn that expert sniper badge, lol. Anyways, the DPI adjustment, and ballance of this mouse is sweet. I would have never believed that a mouse could be so effective in improving sighting capabilities and performance. It's a good call for anybody interested in stepping up their game.
Ya I have the same mouse. Decent amount of butons and great tracking. Most hardcore fps gamers probally already own it.
I thought about getting the G5, but after having the MX510, I love the two buttons by my thumb and didn't want to lose one with the G5. That's been about the only thing keeping me from upgrading is that loss of a button.
I've got one, absolutely love the feel of it and the smooth tracking, but I've played for so long without the extra button I keep forgetting about the thumb buttton.
Just takes time I guess.

great mouse accurate, fast, and plenty of buttons, can re-assign them as you wish,
I don't use the sensitvity ones so they are now knife and pistol. will get the gold badges sooner or later!!

had one gave it away after about 10 hrs play hated it .....got meh self a "copper head " by "razer" mutch better by far i found
