I only jump out to repair if there is no teammates in the nearby area because I know people like to steal tanks and no enemies or if im burning then i jump out to repair 3 bars so tank doesnt blow up and go find a spot away from eveyronet o finish repairing.
I dont get that.... If you KNOW the guy, and you're driving with him.. let the GUNNER be engy so he can jump out and repair/lay mines, and you can be support and SL (or medic in case of sniper fire and you're NOT SL). I often find that when you're diring a supprt/engy combo, it's ALWAYS the engy that needs to go out. Support has no reason to. If you're driving a medic/engy combo, then RARELY, but sometimes does the medic need to get out. But more often than not, it's the engy. So I say, let the dude that needs to exit the most often be the gunner !joker3327 wrote:

I jump out of driver seat to repair ( own tank that is) or lay mines.... gunner switches seat to cover me ...I finish he swaps back.......if medic and we see someone requiring assistance ....i pull up close pop smoke ..he gets out and revives.....he jumps in off we go......
If either of us is too slow to get back in and someone else gets in...we sit there with the turret going around in circles.....until he gets out or we die!
Works well !!
Personally, I wont steal a tank/APC from a guy if he's out to repair it. But if I run by, see an empty APC/tank and noone around, I jump in it, and if noone is screaming over it, I drive to battle in stead of walking. If I get out of my tank/APC to do some damage/revives/whatever, I EXPECT someone to take my tank. And I rarely expect to have it back. So I often look at the benefits to getting out as opposed to the drawbacks. Yes, I'll osse my armor, but is armor readily available on the map ? Then it's no problem. Do I get 15-20 points for placing mines, reviving people or whatever caused me to jump out ? Will those points out weigh what I might otherwise gain from staying in the tank ? If the enemy has a good bomber pilot that keeps owning me, wouldn't I PREFER the 10-15 points I can get from bailing and then find another tank afterwards ?
I think the main tank whoring problem is only on karkand. I rarely if EVER see people figthing/killing over armor on ANY other map. So I just avoid tank whoring when I play Karkand.. simple as that.
I had a teammate jump out of his tank to remove a mine while infront of the enemy hotel. He of course was overwhelmed and died. I killed the sob that got him, jumped in the tank and took the flag. The idiot spawns at the hotel and proceedes to demand i give him his tank back because I "Stole" it from him. Dumbass. I bailed his ass out, since he handed the damn thing to the enemy and he wants me to let him try to do it again, I think not. I had to run him over to go to the next flag, not a big lose.
If you are doing something admirable and not acting like an idiot, I will let you keep your armor. If you are a Dumbass, sorry about your luck. And no, I don't trust anyone to not steal my vehicle, but I will take the repair point if I think we stand a good chance of dieing if we try to continue on.

I never give them a chance, it happens too much. I cant believe you met people that give back the tankOrangeHound wrote:
The ugly: leaving the MEC base on Karkand in an APC and a guy screams "I need a ride" ... I back way up to get him. As I'm heading toward the action, I jump out to drop a mine to protect the back flags ... this guy takes the F1 seat and will not relinquish it even after constant screaming from me ...
Most passengers jump out when i get in the red with damage, when they run i repair!!
I actually do it the other way around. driver is medic, gunner is engineer. That way the guy in the turret gets healed if he gets knicked, and also, when he jumps out to repair, if someone starts shooting at him he will start to get healed even before he gets back in the vehicle.joker3327 wrote:

what I do to prevent shmucks from taking my tank is, I create a squad, lock it, invite just the other guy in, and give him the rundown before we go anywhere: next round spawn engineer, I will spawn medic. If you want, we can rotate positions, but the driver should always be medic and the turret should always be engineer. ...usually this works well. Occasionally someone will be a dick, but you're going to have that.
You are a moron my friend......thanks for admitting it.jamiet757 wrote:

Hey armor whores!
Do you EVER get out of your armor to repair or lay mines if you have another player in the vehicle with you?
While beeing a passenger I allways cover the repairing driver and let him take back his position. That's nothing but respect and courtesy, which may be hard to find on the field sometimes, but still are the best answer to all those CENSORED out there. Whatever you do, however you behave - it will come back to you the same way.
And to all the "I am the world's best XXX-whore! How can you just consider of taking my XXX away? Can't you see the template with my name on it?"-specialists: I will cover even you!

I just stay in the tank and let nearby armor auto repair......
Iam usually squad leader and call for supplies, if the commander is a retard i'll just hop out and repair it myself, i once got killed on karkand across the river without any enemy troops nearby while repairing, the shot came from across the river...
Need a lift? Just SHOUT!

if you are driving the tank be an engineer and the turrent guy be a medic or support OR viceversa. That way you/he fix other vehicles and he/you heals/supplies teammates, points for both.
Play as squad leader and go for flags. people can spawn at turrent and jump out to take flag while you clean area.
If a teammate steals your armor dont worry, 99% probability hes a noob and hes gonna get killed in 10 seconds. go back to armor spawn point. if he spawns there too, TK HIS ASS. He doesnt deserve to be near your armor.
