- What do expert helo pilots do when lame gunners are abound?
I've gotta say its a nightmare when your sat in the gunners seat and the pilot is reacting moments from Air wolf episodes he has seen, yes flying close to the ground and skimming under wires is impressive but it doesn't help when he turns the corner and gets a tank shell from close range.
In other words if you have a gunner your more likely to get high points flying sensibly allowing the gunner time to recognise the target and shoot, as there is a difference between what the pilot and the gunner can see. Alot of pilots forget this. Fair enough if the gunner is crap and taking ages to line up and shoot it can be a nightmare, and obvoiusly if there is a lock on tone then the pilot has to take action, but sometimes its useful for pilots to get in the gunners seat for a change just to remember what exactly is required from them when positioning the helicopter.

I am so sick of those players who seem to be blind, not shooting at any infantry. or the vast, vast majority of players who could not hit a chopper with a TV guided missle to save their mom.
I'm average with both flying and gunner. But if no one takes the chopper, then game on. However, if there is another person there with me, then no doubt he/she will suck ass. But then again, line me up with 999 other soldiers and I'll always be the first to die.

Well to be honest with you if I line up a tv and you machine gun it or miss completely I never pick targets for my gunner but rather go give them hell with hellfires but you knwo some guys did have to learn I remember getting in a chopter and a guy lined me up i shot it and hit a helichopter with out stearing and then he told me via head set yolu do know you can stear them right and I was like wtf you can how now I am a insane gunner. Oh and if you are one of the damn noobs that is contributing to my heli k/d by getting in the pilot seat and rolling over hahaha very fun cut the crap thank you.CutK0rners wrote:

There's a utility that comes with the hack I use, and it allows me to just eject the gunner (I use it a lot cause I like to fly solo anyway...)

Yes, I did fly helos in DC for a year before I BF2 was released, so I had some kind of practice.

That's because some of us actually play this game to enjoy ourselves, not have it ruined by people who feel they have to prove they are better than everyone else even if it means cheating at it.

If you look at my stats, it should be clear that I don't hack. If I did, do you not think I'd at least have an average score? As you can see, I'm well below average.SkoobyDu wrote:

Err, we can't see your stats, you haven't posted your PID.

Its all relavent my friend... low score doesn't really discount the fact that you could be hacking, time spent in the game and all that - lets face it I could have owned the game since the day it came out and then I could have played the game for 10mins a day... do you see where I am going with this?Afrika_18 wrote:

I'm actually coming into my own with regards to the helo right now. From what I've seen, I get way more bad pilots than gunners. I find I'm more successful soloing, tv and missiles, than having a gunner or a pilot. What happens when I pilot, I get decent gunners. We usually get our fair shares of kills, and then a J10 rapes us. When I'm the gunner, I get nothing but horrible pilots (except for last night. I had the best pilot to date. I ended up with 48:2 because of his mighty flying). Usually they go to cap flags. For some reason my mic never works on any server, so I type to them they need to stop hovering and find targets. They never listen. I spot enemy attack helos and these idiots just keep flying in a straight line and we get tv'd. I spot by Q and I even type the direction of main targets and I'm ignored. When they finally do turn, I usually get my target, but these freaks just don't listen.
That's why I solo so much now. Last time I solo'd on Dalian, I got the Gold medal and ended up with like 80 something points. It's good not to have to worry about other idiots getting you killed.

Wait, here's something good chopper users will recognise..
why is it that people who are new to the chopper think that flying along the ground really fast is the best way to fly? I know I used to do it just to prove I could handle the thing but it is rarely if ever effective.
Go high(er), know where your gunners TV scope is aimed at and FFS constantly look around for hostile choppers and if you ever need to run from a chopper fight, DIVE HARD AND TURN lose yourself in foliage. And on the way back to the chopper pad to repair JINK AND TURN because even though you feel silly and it takes more time to get there and get back to killing I know that I have nailed MANY MANY choppers on their way to repair.
