Ive gone through the kit stuff on UBAR and from how it calculates deviation, if you use zoom, your devation will be higher than if you dont use zoom. I think this is wrong, but I based it off the calculations. Could someone please explain this to me?

M16
Magazine Capacity: 30
Magazines: 5
Rate of Fire: 900
Damage: 30
Fire Modes: Single/ Burst
Accuracy: High
Min Deviation: 0.3
Deviation Standing/Crouching/Prone: 1.5/1.3/1.0
Deviation Added per Shot: 0.2(2)
Deviation Mod when Zoomed: 0.8
Recoil: 0.1-0.6
Recoil Mod when Zoomed: 0.8

The formula is (Min Deviation * Stance) + (Additional Shots) * (Zoom Mod) + [(Recoil) * Recoil Zoom Mod].

UBAR's Calculations
Standing, three shots, not zoomed
M16A2: (0.3 * 1.5) + (0.2+0.2) + (0.1+0.1) = 1.05 Deviation on third shot
           (.45)           (0.4)           (0.2)

My Calculations for the Zoom
Standing, three shots, zoomed
M16A2: (0.3 x 1.5) + (0.8+0.8) + (0.8+0.8) = 3.65 Deviation on third shot
               (.45)            (1.6)            (1.6)

Dunno. I have another fella write that section of UBAR since I myself don't truely understand it. Maybe he'll come by and chime in.

I think what you want is:

(0.3*1.5) + ((0.2+0.2)*0.8) + ((0.1+0.1)*0.8) = 0.93 Deviation on third shot
  (0.45)             (0.32)                 (0.16)

Ah, glad someone else started a thread on this.  Saves me a bit of trouble.  Anywa, I think your friend that wrote the deviation made a couple of mistakes copying the stats down.

The formula is (Min Deviation * Stance) + (Additional Shots) * (Zoom Mod) + [(Recoil) * Recoil Zoom Mod].

M16A2
Min Deviation 0.3
Dev Standing/Crouching/Prone: 1.5/1.3/1
Dev Added Per Shot: 0.2 (2 max)
Dev Mod Zoomed: 0.8
Recoil: 0.1 - 0.6
Recoil Mod Zoomed: 0.8

SVD
Min Deviation: 5
Deviation Standing/Crouching/Prone: -/-/- [need to take this as 1/1/1]
Deviation Added per Shot: 2 (3.5 max)
Deviation Mod when Zoomed: 0.02
Recoil: 4 - 5.2
Recoil Mod when Zoomed: 0.25

so...

Standing, single shot, not zoomed
M16: 0.3 * 1.5 = 0.45 Deviation
SVD: 5 * 1 = 5 Deviation

Standing, two shots, not zoomed
M16: 0.3 * 1.5 + 0.2 + 0.1 = 0.75 Deviation on second shot
SVD: 5 * 1 + 2 + 4 = 11 Deviation on second shot

Standing, three shots, not zoomed
M16: 0.3 * 1.5 + 0.2 + 0.2 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 1.05 Deviation on third shot
SVD: 5 * 1 + 3.5 + 4 + 4 = 16.5 Deviation on third shot.

Note that the recoil figures used here are the best you can expect.  On average, they will be worse.

Prone, one shot, zoomed
M16: 0.3 * 1 * 0.8 = 0.24 Deviation
SVD: 5 * 1 * 0.02 = 0.1 Deviation

In this example, the M16 got a bit better when zoomed and prone, but the SVD has less than half the deviation of the M16 in this mode.

Prone, two shots, zoomed
M16: (0.3 * 1 + 0.2) * 0.8 + 0.1 * 0.8 = 0.48 Deviation on second shot
SVD: (5 * 1 + 2) * 0.02 + 4 * 0.25 = 1.14 Deviation on second shot

Again, the recoil figures quoted are the minimum.  Still, taking a quick second shot with the SVD, prone, is worse than the third shot with an M16 unzoomed, standing.

As most of this is a little bit beyond my exacting standards, I wish EA/DICE had just released this info in the first place.
