I'm getting really erratic ping especially late at night 12am till 3am, I am using NTL and I wondered if anyone else is experiencing problems, it seems to zoom constantly between 30 and 400 and the lag is terrible
When you get between 17 and 900, we can be brothers. Otherwise, don't bitch, it's the patch. I'm guessing you got wireless too. Maybe it's not every night, you could be having thunderstorms, using the phone/microwave, etc.

Try this
click start > run> type in msconfig> go start up and click disable all hit ok it will restart PC
when windowsx will load you will get pop telling u about your changes tik box and click ok.
above step should improve performance of the game
By the way if you runoing on wirless you will get this problem all the time as BF2 doews not like wirless 2 much

Thanks chaps at least im not alone, will try ur suggestion +1 to u all.
Another way to fix this problem with wireless is to:
1.Right click on My computer
2.Click manage
3.Services and applications then click services
4.scroll down to the bottom until you find the "wireless zero configuration"
5.Stop this service.....(if you find you cant connect to IE or mozilla then simply restart the service....just make sure u put it on automatic for when it starts up cus otherwise you may forget to put it on an wonder why ur internets not working any problems/questions reply here

im using a wireless router but it is hardwired to my PC I play BF2 on..I think it is a problem with NTL, I got a letter from SKY Broadband today £10 for 16mb connection so hopefully Ntl will soon be gone....
hey, I used to do this but then enabled WPA-PSK encryption. I think it only works for people with unencrypted access points, because if I do this now, it drops my connection. for people with unencrypted wireless, though, try it! it really works, I can tell you that.c4_he_was_famous wrote:

You know, pings between 600 and 1000 we're not going to be able to humanly see the difference, anyway. And do you fly a lot? No. Getting in the cockpit every time, and fearing that you're going to kill yourself and your gunner is definitely a bitch.tvmissleman wrote:
