Well done Snake, you kept your composure, didn't resort to TKing the prick back. The only way to handle and eventually eliminate these pathetic sobs is to put them in their place, and then ignore them. Well done.

You can tell when its little kids that you get those kinda remarks from, they get their parents to pay for the game. Or the most famous one. "stop killing me, leave me alone." Sorry but if my bullets are firing and you get in my way, then fuck you, you deserve to die. They think that they own the whole game and that they are god, but in reality they are just another piece of shit born on this earth. Some kids can be ok, i've played with 12 year olds that actually know how to play and can play good.

It would've been cool on Karkand where you're spotting shit left right and center, then he teamkills you, so then you spot boats as fast as you can. XD

The BF2 community is the worst out of Medal of Honor (1.0 version - like 100 servers, so it people played with eachother quite a lot) 1942 and BF2. Only 3 I know, but out of them all, this game has the most immature pricks I've seen so far. It's insane, and now this, not allowing a commander to COMMAND. >.>

Getting TK'd because your the commander happens allot more than you think, its usually a low ranking individual that wants you to leave the server so they can take your spot, its the same annoying thing when someone starts a vote kick against you the second your elected commander

As commander you don't need to spot everything every f'ing second.  All you need to do is show your guys where the enemy is once, they should be able to take care of it from there.  If need be drop a UAV over their heads.  You don't need to spam everything.  The commanders voice is, as someone pointed out above, annoying.  I have been on servers with these commanders too many times.  I create a squad just to use voip and say, Shut the fuck up. Then I leave that squad and go about my business. If anything the commander is distracting.  It takes out of what you can hear when being attacked and from where.  I don't know about you but I think being able to hear everything is crucial.  That's my tactic, listening. So, please, don't spam every time you see a red dot by your soldiers.

Him: "SHUT THE FUCK UP WITH UR GAY SPOTTING BITCH"

I'd rather have a commander telling me everything instead of some fucking dummy spotting air 6 times in a row or how about them idiots spotting the same chopper/tank/whatever 6 to 8 times in a row, fuck the spammers ffs, I can't hear a damn footstep because some fuckface on a hill thinks the army needs him to spot out everyhting that moves and to make his point, he will do his job 6 times in a row and you know what?
He aint spotting a damn thing cause he sucks at it, just look at the question marks all over the map.

I can't understand this anti-spotting attitude. Intelligence is vital to any military engagement. That lone red dot might be SpecOps, Sniper or a damn Squad Leader Mobile Spawn Point.

Maybe you can ask EA/Dice for an option to turn off SPOT notifications (i.e. the radio). If I use headphones I can tell the difference between footsteps and radio chatter...and my ears are screwed from my time working a diamond saw and a brick-cutter.

Probably the same guys will TK a commander for trying to order their squad around. Actually I take that back because I'll bet they are usually Smurfs

You know i am a Brigadier General,

and i am not taking sides with the tk'r, but there has been times where NoobManders piss me off so much that i feal like killing them as well.

The Core has heard Noobmanders spot enemy relentlessly for many many minutes.

Me as commander realise Uav is my greatest weapon even better than artillery, and yes i spot infantry and tanks, but i only spot them at very crucial moments,  noobmanders dont understand what a crucial moment is or were is the proper place to spot people.

I remember when i was a noobmander i would keep my uav on the tv station on sharqui at all times, because that is the flag i wanted.  But now that i am a commander i keep the uav in the area were most of my team mates are, or at the closest flag that is not captured to the closest flag that is captured.   And Uav for 1 person on you're team is pointless, Uav belongs to the majority at all times.

an effective commander will use uav for 98% of there spots.

Yeah I get a few of them...They're bloody wankers.
I love being commander...And apparently people hate me being commander.  I get them constantly teamkilling me with knives and shit.  They sometimes do it with their friends.
I always wonder; is it because they want commander?  Is it because they want us to lose?  Or is it because they think I'm the enemy with the red name bug?
I now think they do it for kicks.  Has anyone else noticed that when you're commander, and you die, your teams tickets bleed quicker?  Obviously these faggots haven't cottened on to it.

I don't know how it works for you guys over there in England, but in Australia, if you're punished 5 times, you're kicked from the server...I'll give you +1 mate...For your pain...lol

Good job keeping your cool and trying to continue helping your team, I know that I wouldn't have been able to after the second time or so.

To reply to the comments about commanders spotting enemies in the middle of nowhere with no team members around... I generally agree, but don't forget that if he is behind the main battle front (on maps where there is one) no-one is likely to ever get around to killing him. I don't spam spot as commander, but if you see a spot in an isolated area, it will usually be because the commander sees him moving towards an empty flag (i.e. not there YET), and this way people can change their spawn points, you lose a lot less flags this way.

As others have said, spotting should be every single USEFUL spot. Some battles there aren't many at all, so not many spots...but if there are lots of important ones, you're going to get them.

Further, spotting is not just the commanders job, too many maps I play on have just the commander spotting. I can't believe that people don't also spot.

As for people who don't like air being spotted, are you kidding?????????????????????????????????????????????
Jets are the TOP of the food chain. (on most maps, but the principle still holds)
Commander spots air = your teams jets kill enemies jets. Snowball... Your choppers stay up, enemy choppers die..... Snowball...Snowball more. Choppers kill armour / transports etc and your team armour is not raped by enemy air. Snowball some more...your infanty survives / caps and other team infantry dies....Final snowball = more flags and vehicles for your team = YOU WIN AND YOUR K/D IS GOOD AND SPM IS GOOD.

Finally, spotting getting in the way of hearing????? Unless you have a commander using a macro to spot (who should be tk'ed/kicked/banned for cheating) the voiceover does not stop you from hearing what you need to. I agree that sound is critical, but spotting does not stop it.

Edit: I don't think that I have ever been deliberately tk'ed by myt team while commander, so I must be doing something right.

Thoughtful disagreement welcome. Moggle.

two remarks on this subject.

1. Be sure you are not victim to the red tag/blue tag bug if you are repeatedly teamkilled without an obvious reason.

2. spotting people with VOICE/microphone does NOT mark them as a red dot on the minimap as far as i know!  this is a severe disadvantage to the rest of your team who  are not in your squad but like to use the minimap !

If you are not commander and want enemies marked on the minimap for the WHOLE TEAM:
>> USE THE COMMO ROSE KEY for spotting, and rightclick on the center circle while looking through it at the target to specify (armor/plane/vehicle etcetera) !

I was once TKed a couple times by a kid who was upset that I was "hiding from the action".
I tried to explain (as hard as that is, in this game's lame chat screen) that my 0/1 ratio didn't mean I was doing nothing, and told him if I had HIS k/d ratio of 3/11, the team would be losing.  He just didn't get it.

A dedicated commander is better than a dead one.  I'd also rather put up with a little spamming, compared to UAVs in the middle of the ocean, because the CO is flying and fucked up the placement.

A guy CAN spot toooo much, and become annoying.  I spot in order of deadliness: air, choppers, armor, cars, infantry.  And zoom in for a REAL spot...if you spot while fully-zoomed out, I usually hear a generic "enemy forces spotted", but if you zoom down on him, it'll give you "enemy car spotted" or "enemy AA spotted" etc, and throw the symbol on minimap.  Ten minutes of "enemy forces spotted" can grate on your team.  You can usually only spot a jet when he is on runway.

The little red dots usually fade out before I get to the bottom of that deadliness list, so infantry spotting is minimum for me.  I'll let UAV point them out, unless there's a specific reason to point out a guy, such as:
- he's alone, but he's capping a flag
- I see he's running off a number of kills (such as a hidden sniper)
- he's near the CO assets, and I am not close enough to defend

I sometimes type it out after spotting.  Like "one guy taking the south base" or "guy in the AA at Hotel".  Esp. useful if dude has an unusual elevation, because no one can tell that from the spotting: "sniper on roof at Square" or "sniper in crane by construction".

Good job Snake, trying to continue commanding.  Sounds like you had a good team, maybe the twerp thought he could take your spot and hawk a win.

I know that spamming can be an absolute nightmare, when I have commanded and I've noticed a large group of enemy's moving I'll spot one enemy soldier just so my team know to check that area and I'll assign a squad to intercept if they are close.

If there are a lot of vehicles grouping and UAV is not available I'll either send a Jet or Attack Helicopter to that position. After a while they get used to me doing that for them as they know they will end up getting big points.

It also helps when you have squads available to you with the Teamwork option turned on.

First off...thanks to everyone for the + karma...gone from 47 to 55 from this topic alone! haha. If youve left your name, the karmas on the way after this post

In response to some peoples views and comments, I actually did try to take out the guy - a vehicle on his head twice to be precise. Didnt work Its not as if my team needed them anyway, since there are more than enough tanks and APC's on the map to facilitate the entire team.

Also, I can always spot jets on full zoom out - but can never do helis. I can only seem to do them whilst zoomed right in, and thats not everytime. Is there a way to do this? Or is my clicking action just fucked?!?

Anyway, it seems as if most people are on the lines of the spotting is useful (I know for a fact it is to me when Im on foot) and a UAV cannot cover the entire map. I usually put that on an area with heavy troop concentration or onto a CP my team are taking. Spotting for anything else.
I agree it is annoying when you have the default voices (so you hear everything in chinese/MEC talk) - which is why I have it on english voip only. But even still, it doesnt deserve a tk vendetta for the whole round.

I will continue to spot enemies - and hope that this retard, or others like it, dont turn up when im playing.
Fucking retards

(p.s. I hope he reads this topic )
