Next weapon unlock option - Your advice please.

Greetings all,

I have searched and read a fair few posts, but I haven't been able to find either a definitive answer, or one which takes into account possible changes in 1.4.

So, just about to rank up, and I've narrowed it down to the two above choices. I just wanted you guys and gals to offer up an opinion of which would be the better choice. Has 1.4 made any difference to the weapons at all? I know everyone says the G36E is amazing but recent threads have suggested that with 1.3 the L85A1 has been given a boost in accuracy. Also, I've started playing AT a fair amount recently and the P90 seems like a decent option.

P90 - only cuz it's a seperate class and i would say there's no point getting two unlocks for the same class at the same time... G36e is awsome though...

I hate the G36E, somehow it doesn't kill anything for me, you have to shoot 4 bursts from POINT BLANK to kill someone, while the L85A1 is just instea-headshot. And the P90 is just awesome.

I voted for the medic weapons, only because the DAO rocks everybodys socks off. And the G36E has extremely accurate bursts, probably the best burst waepon in the game. But it depends on what you like, everybody has different tastes and looks for different things in a weapon. I would go for the to medic guns, simply because I dont se a point with choosing P90.

the g36e is not made for close range battles its more mid-range and the enemy never stands a chance

ye it sucks at close range.

Yes, and there are only 3 burst weapons in the game LOL

G36K > G36E > M16A2

G36K is best because it has full auto and burst.

Don't se the point with P90? Giving the AT kit chance to fight enemies that are over 50 meters away maybe? P90 is one of the best guns in the game, I mean when compared to all guns, it's a winner in close combat because of its high ROF and it's red dot scope and single shot rocks in long range.

G36E is useless, because the standard medic guns are better IMO, except for M16, the G36E rocks the boots off the M16, but you are getting L85A1 anyway.

I still think L85A1 is better, it carries a good punch which makes it...ok in close combat even though the deviation is ridiculous, and in long range it's just pure haxor.

my first unlock was the L85 and its a very versatile gun. The scope is awesome for both getting a close look and aiming with single shot. You can sometimes outsnipe the snipers with this gun. Automatic is kind of inaccurate unless your close range. But as long as you fire in bursts its good. I use P90 in Euroforce all the time and its one of my favorite guns. The rate of fire is outstanding and you can really slay with this gun (the scope is cool too)

Looking at your stats, you spend very little time as Medic and lots as Anti-tank.

If this is a situation you're happy to continue with, then I'd suggest the L85A1 and the P90. That way you get a medic unlock, which might give you a bit more reason to play Medic, but more importantly you get to add the P90 to your AT arsenal, which will make your AT kit more flexible. The DAO-12 is awesome, but on some maps you really want something that works at ranges above 17 inches. It's nice to be able to shoot at range without having to use up one of your precious rockets, and the P90's a lot better at that kind of thing than the stock SMG's (with its nice sights). It's also got a wonderful 900rpm fire rate, which means it's no slouch in close-quarters either.

On the other hand, if you want to make a concerted effort to clock hours up as a medic, then get the two medic guns. The L85A1 is a fine weapon, but in my opinion its best used for specific tactical situations: mainly for long-range sniping, since it's got a good scope and can kill in a single headshot. The G36E on the other hand is an amazingly flexible weapon, good at pretty much every range. It's not as good as the L85A1 at very long range (no scope, sub-34 damage), or at very close range (only burst fire, not full auto), but at everything in between it's great. (There are many who would claim it's the all-round best weapon in the game. Those people would then have to endure a barrage of "n00b!" from the AK fans. My own opinion is that it comes down to personal preference and tactical choice.)

So, to sum up: If you're going to continue playing lots of AT and little medic, take the P90 and L85A1. If you really want to work up your medic skills, take the two medic weapons, as you're likely to get more benefit from the G36E than the L85A1.

To be honest, most of the time I'd prefer a pistol to the P90. If you're at long range, you're going to be using both in single shot mode, so they're almost entirely the same, except the pistol has practically no recoil, so it ends up with a better ROF. Just keep using the DAO at close range and the pistol at medium ones, and you should be fine.

Nice magazine capacity on the P90, though.

I hate the P90 it seems waay to underpowered and never nearly enough ammo because I only use it at short ranges. DAO owns in close quarters like any other shotgun you just need to use it right. Being anti-tank means you are limited to short-medium distances. Although I have killed many snipers with my rocket.

seriously though.. if you want to aid your playing in any way at all.. NEVER use the g36e..

you'll get used to its noobishness and start to suck with the weapons that matter
