is it possible to get demoted in BF2, like if i just got the first sergeant rank and then got negative score would i get demoted?

I would doubt it becuase even when you get wiped you keep your rank and unlocks.
you cant get negative scores... If an IAR score is negative it will be recorded as zero.
You cant get demoted and you cant lose weapons but if you do score negative in a round it does come off your global !

No. it is very possible to get demoted. I've seen the text for it in the localization files. There are sounds for it aswell. All you need to do is get promoted, lose a bunch of points, and you'll go back to your previous rank. Isnt that hard.
For the Demotion drumroll:

come to my attention that some people dont know how to play .ogg files..
use winamp.. but NOT winamp lite.. it doesn't support the .ogg codec

I was scouting around for a commander sound when you get demoted. Couldn't find one

i tried to use windows media player to open the file. now i cant get the option to pick what program to use to open the file. and it will only open with media player now. how do i fix this?
I think the demotion is for things like SMotC. If you have, say, 59,980 points and become SMotC, then next month someone with 59,990 points gets SMoTC, I think it'll play that drumroll and say you've been demoted to Sgt Major.
