Flying in Jets ....

While flying in a jet, what do you use? Your mouse, a joystick, or some other type of thing?

I ask this question because I see all these guys in jets just pwning the sheet out of the map the whole game, while they fly so perfectly and at the perfect speed without ever crashing themselves.

Ok, so I am guessing 90% of the jet flyers use a joystick ..... so, how hard is it to get good at flying with a joystick? Does it take a bit of practice, or is it like common sense?

Any suggestions you guys have as to a good joystick for me to buy? I don't plan on spending a butt load of money, but I would like to get something to improve my jet flying "skills".

i use mouse to bomb and sometimes A to A then i use arrowkeys to fly

EDIT: make sure u use arrow keys to atleast fly....u can turn much sharper and get away from stinger and ESSEX locks by barrel rolling and deploying flares.....u cant barrel roll very easily with mouse

90% dont use joystick, maybe 70 or below. i use keyboard.

I use a CYBORG EVO joystick by Saitek. It works great but yes, joysticks do take a little time to get used to. It has helped me in a jet a lot more than a mouse and keyboard. I'm a lot better in jets now .

I use a mouse,there was a poll done about heli pilots and the option for keyboard and mouse one.

Mouse and keyboard usually, but I'm experimenting with a Saiteck. Also just bought a logitech G5, so i'll see how that goes.

Try turning up your mouse sensitivity in planes. Makes the controls very responsive and there's a high probability of error. The main thing to improve is your turn speed and evasive maneuvers. The tighter you can turn, the better chance you have of surviving missle locks. And try weaving in over and around mountains and other obstacles if you're being harassed by a Linebacker/Tugunska/Chinese anti air (Whatever it's called...)

Love the thing, have been flying scince BF1942 off of it. Great joystick, I need to get a new one though soon because the rudder controls are losing sensitivity. Im gonna buy another one, buttons are in great places, perfect for BF2. Love it, and its only like 30$.

Logitech Wireless 2.4.... I sucked in a jet until I figured out that I could program my JS into the controls... I was instantly 2000% better. It's a lot more like common sence, very low learning curve. IMO. I was 2-30 or something in jets before I picked up my JS.... And then I went my first round and got a good 20 kills. <3 My Logitech.

Ya ive got that stick, and it was pretty cheap too, maybe mismarked. I got it for like $10...but flying with a joystick is just natural, nothing to get used to
