every now and then I get a person who is complaining about the trick where you sprint and throw some c4 about5 meters and detonate they say and accuse me of cheating and come on does nobody know of this trick I knew it from the moment I start playing BF2. So who knows it and do you think its worser than being a nadenoob.

Yes I have recently used this trick and promptly received my basic explosives ordinance badge. I don't think it is worse than the noob tube as you have to actually use coordination and great timing to pull it off without killing yourself.
It's also a great psychological game on the enemy as I have seen guys run away when they see my name on top of my head.
I even sometimes say, "C4 HERE! Need C4? Here!"

whats the point?
A huge splash radius from a c4 kills ground troops pretty far away from the blast. It's alot more effective than the noobtube if you can do it. Part of the problem is server lag (I THINK), I've never been able to master this technique.
To me this is no different than glitching. You are exploiting a system in a way that it was never intended to.

I think it's an effective use of C4 (*mind it, I don't even have basic explosives yet*). If I can throw a pack at you and detonate it before you can kill me, then that's your loss. (*and nevermind the fact that I can't pick up a pack once I throw it - what an oversight*)

Complain about lag... that's most of everybody's problems. Work to make the Internet faster. Then I'll buy you a cookie.
It's game mechanics, hardly an exploit, since it's always been this way. People just need to deal with it. It gets really lame if it's the only thing you do tho. Save your c4 for vehicles, use your gun on people. It is really handy on the first flag and hotel tho, when you know someone's next to the flag capping, a pack of c4 over the wall will clear everyone out.
It's not really a trick, it works the same as pre 1.03 but the trigger animation doesn't pop up. You throw with the same timing but instead of the detonator popping up another c4 pack drops on the ground. But only the one you threw explodes and the one on the ground disappears.
I got my last 3 spec op kills to get expert over the weekend this way tho. There was about 20 secs left in the round, I ran down from the suburbs gunned down 2 guys, rounded a corner and ran into two more while reloading so I popped my c4 and dropped one, ran around the corner and boom 2 c4 kills. Right as detonate there's another guy going prone with a saw but I throw a pack on his head and take him with me. *ding* 40 kills with like 4 secs remaining, yay me!

Um.. if you're talking about the run/jump and throw to get max. distance for your nade and or c4... so what? It was like that in bf1942 also, you run...jump and throw a nade.. it goes a hell of a lot further than if you just stood there and threw it.

It's not that hard to do. I can do it unscathed, but sometimes I get at least 2 to 4 bars of health knocked off, and that's if the guy(s) is/are shooting at me. I just love using it on tanks and APCs on rooftops. They don't know what hit them. I especially love doing it at a full Humvee trying to run me over (kills the driver and gunner right away and the other two get "[killed]" from the secondary explosion. That's if the C4 was a little distance off to not completely destroy the vehicle, otherwise it's an instant 4 kill).stef wrote:

My take on it is this: If you don't like the way a game is programmed, stop playing it. It is just a game, no whining nescessary, kthx.
Don't get me wrong, I know this game is like crack, especially after having first hand experience with the red bug waaay too much. However the bottom line comes down to my first two sentences. Don't like it? Then go play some airsoft or paintball to get your fix. Unlike EA, physhics don't lie and don't allow for cheaters. All you can do is bend the rules with physhics. No breaking allowed, airtight ya' know.

that video isn't exactly how it works in Karkand. They sprint, jump, toss, and then almost instantly detonate.
and the screwed up part? i'm like 4 feet from the pack when it goes off. and i die. however, he's only 3 feet from the pack, but is somehow unharmed...

The video is in single player, so there isn't any lag to take the detonator out. The 'trick' in multiplayer is that it pretty much bypasses the time needed to take out the detonator, and you can detonate as if you were playing single player. Anyways, that's how I got my expert explosives badge, and I've gotten over 1,000 c4 kills, many of them from using this technique. I don't think it's an exploit.
hey guys, i got a name for that "glitch" i call it ..........MOMENTUM......but until we have that problem fixed in the real world, your just gonna have to DEAL WITH IT! maybe you can start whining about a REAL glitch like if you get shot down while flying a heli only to find out your being punished for tk'ing the passengers in the heli. i've done that to pilots and they get banned from the server.......
I happened to come across a 64 player ranked karkand server today with friendly fire turned off, and i must say using the c4 trick in this situation makes the noobtube look like a bbgun.
Not only can you toss the c4 far and quickly detonate it for massive amounts of kills, you dont even have to worry about hurting yourself or other teamates. Someone comes up behind you? Just drop the C4 at your feet and click, then continue on your merry way. An enemy and a teamate are both within the blast radius? Just click and steal your teamates kill.
Ended the round with 50 odd C4 kills and twice as many points as the next closest player.
