I think BF2 is far from dead. I understand how you feel about the constant changes though, but they don't make the game any less enjoyable for me, i just learn to adapt, except for the CTD's obviously.
There are new players joining everyday and they don't know what previous versions were like. They aren't gonna complain about not being to throw C4 or that the BH guns are too weak are they?. Just enjoy the game for what it is now....best online game in the world, so should we.
Who complained about things like the BH guns anyway? i don't remember seeing any so called 'noobs' complaining about that on this forum (someones going to prove me wrong i just know it!), I think EA/Dice took the decision to nerf them upon themselves as they've done many times now, it's their idea of how the game should be, they're constantly trying to address balance issues, nothing should be too superior.
...and it didn't cost much did it? I payed £35, I could spend that on taxi fairs on a Saturday night LOL.
bubbass is right about not caring about your stats, its just meant to be fun. Don't turn into a 'stat geek', they're just the modern day equivalent of the train spotter for the Internet generation.
