This is one crazy game.The machine gun in 2142 actually gets more accurate as you fire, allowing the Support class to offer consistent, accurate suppressive fire.
Incidentally, whoa, they're really wanting people to grind now, aren't they? Can't even use grenades without unlocking them.
i h8 that word, grind. its a crap way of saying ranking up or leveling up etc. etc.

It's still fucking wierd. I mean, the gun has inverse recoil, or what? Crazy crazy game.
And, well, you can't deny that they're wanting people to grind. According to that article like half the stuff isn't usable without getting a whole stack of points. I mean, think. In titan mode, you need to infiltrate and put explosives on the enemy titan, but you need to unlock explosives! What if nobody on your team has unlocked them? You're screwed!
Before people stat padded because they wanted to look good, now they're going to stat pad because if they don't the game will be unplayable.

anyway bf2142 is actaully starting to look pretty good. I've been waiting for some proper video's.. It's also nice to see engineer and AT in one kit. and the support guns actually surpress properly now, a very clever idea.

yeah the support idea looks like it could actually work well, something that people may use properly with a squad, as in the example. Maybe they have learnt from BF2 lol
I also hope that they've changed squadpoints, so that people get more out of playing individual classes without feeling that they could 'earn' more as a class like medic,

yeah, you can't just hit z and shoot someone, but you can stay behind a few teammates, get some bullets going, and keep your enemy properly surpressed. Very good.

I'd have to agree with sarge, and im more of a casual player with not that many hours lol, all games get old after a while, I mostly wont even touch BF2 unless im playing with friends, or people i know now, thats where its still fun, with a squad of mates etc

I think it makes sense: once you've accustomed yourself with the recoil, your accuracy gets better. There are videos of automatic weapons firing on full auto, where the same behaviour is shown.jkohlc wrote:

Actually we're even discussing if we play BF2142 or not. The last trailer wasn't really good, imho it was really bad. The sounds of the vehicles are annoying and the blue muzzle break fire is... odd.

Actually, it doesn't look at bad at all. In terms of infantry combat, (the only thing i actually hate about 2142 is the Walking Tanks and the absence of proper flying jets)
It seems Support and Sniper will be the n00b classes though, especially since Support will get an unlockable drone thingy that fires for you, i hope the drone kills don't add up to your kills though, rather just something that gets rid of tickets instead of point whoring. Sniper has always been a n00b class in all games since they existed.
Seems like Assault will be Medic, vice versa with all unlocks, you could probably make Assault more Assault or more Medic using unlocks.
All this unlock orientated stuff will cause some serious statpadding/exploiting/n00b-ness
