With all this teamplaying, I hope they make the VOIP system better.

The kit changes are interesting. It seems they've eliminated the current assault weapons, which are generally medium/short range killers, and replaced them with guns like the G36E and M16. Currently, Support is better than assault at pretty much everything, so it'll be nice to see assault get some recognition.

The new recon carbines sound weaker than currently - it sounds like more of a teamplaying/sneaky class now. In BF2 the spec ops is a perfectly good, if not better front line soldier as the assault.

They've finally combined engineer and anti-tank - the two classes that don't get any points. Unless its an unlock, engineer doesnt appear to have shotguns (in fact shotguns seem to be gone, except for an addon to the assault rifle), so no DAOs.

"The machine gun in 2142 actually gets more accurate as you fire, allowing the Support class to offer consistent, accurate suppressive fire."

That will just encourage people to spray with the MG. Not such a great idea IMO.

I wonder if there will be a heat limit w/ the lmg's, limiting the amount of time you can go full auto.

I'm curious as to how many unlocks you can use at a time. I mean can you imagine, stealth + explosives + sniper rifle? Long range infantry killing pain in the ass.

After reading a bit about 2142, i'm more worried about the "aircraft" they're going to introduce. From the playtesters' comments they seem to move slower, and it worries em that we'll basically have reskinned A-10's that can hover.

I expect they'll do it by slots. Eg one slot for main weapons, one for grenades/anti perosnnel mines, then one for C4/mines/rockets. Something like that.

Actually with things like that, if someone had the upper hand on you with an Assault rifle, you wouldn't be able to insta-prone and take him out. It would make the support soldier actually play more like a support soldier, that is staying back and spamming bullets everywhere. He wouldn't be able to snipe as he would first have to let rip, giving his position away. Especially with the light bulb blue muzzle.

I think it's a great idea, these DICE guys aren't as dumb as we all thought. Sure it's not realistic, but since when was Bf2 realistic? Gameplay > Realism, but not too arcadey gameplay. Clever stuff like this works well.

Only thing i hate is the drone part of the support dudes. Kill with your own gun ya lazy gits.

Just wait till DICE Canada takes over patching, then you won't be saying that............
