Yesterday I got my first rank progression and became a Lance Corporal. Also, I was offered to unlock one weapon of my choice. I unlocked PKM as I like the most a support gunner role.
I tried to use the new unlocked weapon as a support gunner on various ranked servers and I could not use it on any of them so far. Simply my weapon menu did not change at all. It contained standard support weapon kit and the new unlocked weapon was not shown in it.
I did a check on BFHQ and found that there my PKM was shown as unlocked. Also I checked my status through www.bf2s.com and there also my PKM was shown as unlocked (my ranking can be seen there under http://bf2s.com/player/hogar6/ ).
My BF2 score is 544 points. Is for availability of the first unlocked weapon required just to be Lance Corporal or you also have to score certain number of points? If the points are required what is that number?
Did anyone have similar problem? If yes, could you please advise me how to overcome it.
