Everything on low, but highest resolution. Resolution barely affects framerate and makes a huge difference.

unfortunatly i agree
I'm running BF2 on
Resolution: 1024x786
Terrain: Medium
Effects: High
Geometry: High
Textures: High
Lightning: Low
Dynamic Shadows: Off
Dynamic Lights: High
Anti-Aliasing: 4x
Texture Filtering: High
On a 32 player server i got something like 100fps on a 64player Karkand server it drops to 60-70fps.
I could easily run on 1280x1024 and with Lightning on Medium/High - but i rather resign shadows to see more. Enemies aren't able to hide in dark corners. One more effect it that it's easier to difference between good and enemy.
As for the higher resolution - i tried it for 2 weeks and it's harder to hit with the higher resolution. I wasn't able to obtain my usual 3:1 (and higher) KDR with Assault Rifles. I decreased the resolution and the 3+ KDR was back.
Maybe some of you should consider why top clans & players in most of the games are running their games with really ugly graphics. It's simple the better visibility for enemies.
all high, no AA
7800gt card
constant 70+ fps

I play on an Apple II, everything is a slight tinge of green.
Used to be on medium with some customized options.
Untill I found out you arent supposed to have amazing lag like that, and when I would log out then log back in again it gave me default settings and I just bumped up 75% draw distance to 90% and now its pretty much perfect, oh apart from the fact its on low.
But its better than having constant lag.

everything smashed to the top
I'd have to say Medium.
My computer runs fine on high, but there are advantages in gameplay for having lower settings. Sad, but true.

Why the hell do you have lighting on high? Put that to low, you'll be able to see better .Des.Kmal wrote:

Turn dynamic lighting/shadows on...lighting off.
I an running all high (except light) and 8x AA...100+ fps ...lovely
I'd call it a Low-Medium, majority are Lows, but some are Med with a high res (1024's high for me ).

i have a comp that can run the game on max with 100fps, but i play on nearly all low because i can see enemies better.
Everything on low, even sound..yeah I don't hear the fancy "Hostile slick inbound!" Res. on: 600x800
And I still keep lagging like hell and CTDing all the time! Hate my PC

its has to do with lighting.... not texture..... nubtub.:ronin:.|Patton wrote:

I play all on high but i set dynamic lights/shadows to medium and normal lights and shadows to medium aa set to 4x in game and 16x af in nvidia control panel. just 2 questions tho it wont let me set 8x aa in nvidia control panel i dont know why when i click it, it never selects. and with the lights and shadows what can i set to high so that i can still see people hiding in shadows?
Edit i was just looking in kmals pic and he had 8x alredy in the drop down menu why do i only have off,2x and 4x??

Texture can make grass thicker, backgrounds more detailed and soldiers blend easier. So, actually Texture does make a difference :dDes.Kmal wrote:

I keep every single setting on medium and draw distance on 100%. I play with a gig of ram and an ati x600 so its definitely pushing it. This is the reason i only play karkand/mostly Wake. Really though someone with higher graphics always has the advantage when it comes to air maps. For example I was a shitty jet pilot until i realized my comp could play on medium (it lags like a bitch for the first couple minutes). On low there are no jet trails, you can't see boats, and overall you can't see crap until it is right in front of you. Also good luck being a good heli pilot/gunner when people on med can see you 5 seconds before you see them. As far as infantry goes high graphics doesn't really change a whole lot but lets be honest playing with realistic graphics makes the game a million times better. Bf2 on low looks like GTA.
ok fine...

Night maps are just a pain
Now since I got a up-to-date computer I play with Effects, Dynamic lights and Texture on high and rest on low for better gaming
