It seems like the few times I feel like jumping into some armor, I had to the gas station at Kark for example, and wait a bit -- and this other guy shows up, runs toward the empty parking space where the tank/APC will appear, and BAM the thing just appears, as if commanded by him, and he gets in ahead of me. So I wait around some more, have that happen a few more times, and eventually just hop into a humvee.

What am I missing here?  Thanks in advance.

find out exactly where they spawn, lie there holding "e"
or just groundpound much more fun.

He armor camps. The timing of the armor/APC spawns are similar to those of a soldier spawn, so he doesn't have to wait long before "his" vehicle spawns. As for him constantly getting in before you, I can only attribute that to bad luck.

If you know where they spawn you can usaully time it about right. the person who was last in the vehicle has an advantage though as they will know when the vehicle was destroyed. interesting you consider yourself a n00b when you are only 3 hours behind me (166 hours playing time) Your biggest problem is probably the fact that of those 166 hours 158 or so have been spent on Karkand... Just play some other maps and they'll be plenty of vehicles!!! Try Dragon valley for instance or Daqing oilfields with me

I've actually started playing Sharqi, Warlord and Wake a lot more (comparatively). They're all fun!
