Not so. I play as engineer quite a bit and I've found that the map is so spread out that per capita population of mines to enemies is tough to get right. Meaning it's hard to get close enough to an enemy spawn point to effectively mine. Mining in between their spawn point and yours inevetably results in massive TKs because the jeeps have such a distance to travel that they go very fast (and don't see the mines until they hit). Mining your own flag is also a dangerous proposition on Wake because vehicles spawn at every base, and each vehicle spawn points towards the flag. Dumb team mates love to just hop in a vehicle and drive straight (obviously in awe of the pretty red skulls).IronGeek wrote:

But I reckon Wake Island is the way to go with Mines... as the enemy have to drive through certain areas. What do other people think?

yes, your suicides do count against you! try to prevent killing yourself. i learned this today on karkand. i took out 15 people with c4, but unfortunately i killed myself 3 times in the process. once again i fall one short of this annoying badge. and believe me, i counted correctly. im going to continue with c4 on karkand, they seem like the right combo for me. i tried claymores, but my idiot teammates would keep running into them like moths onto a flame.MattCicioni wrote:
I have a question, does your suicides get subtracted from your kill count if you are jihad jeeping?
I swear I got 23 kills with C4, but no badge, perhaps I killed myself too much.

For the longest time, I couldn't figure it out either. I play in a ladder and in competition, you will see this method used a lot. And for good reason. One shot kills which are more effective close range than noob tubes.NATRONIS wrote:
echo virus, you have intrigued me. but in goldeneye, i thought those mies were motion sensitive. c4 is not supposed to explode unless you pull the trigger. ive personally been having trouble when i lay some c4 down, switch to detonater, hit the button, and i toss more c4 instead of blowing it up. ive gotten killed so many times because of this timing glitch. please, when you say you have an answer, give an actual answer, instead of referencing goldeneye.
your pistol work is amazing by the way. thats something i work on every time i play.
