Top 100 player

So I had the pleasure of playing with a 3 star lt. general last night - looked him up this morning and he is top 100 - not going to name names. Initially I was excited to play with him - although I was on the other team at first. I thought I could learn something.....maybe pick up some secret tactics or something.

All I learned was that the guy was a tank/APC whore.....every time I saw him, he was in the thing. His buddy must have been commanding - because he was ALWAYS sitting on a crate a long way away from the spawn picking people off. He never went for the flag....never moved from the crate unless it was blow up, then he would just ask for another one and get it every time and go right back to what he was doing.

He killed a lot of people that way....but never really "played" the game.

I admit, I suck at this game if you look at his global score compared to mine....but at least I get on the ground, join a squad and charge a flag or two. Yah, I die a lot - but I usually kill more than I get killed. That is much more fun to me than simply sitting 200 yards from a spawn picking people off while sitting on a crate the whole game.

So....the only thing I learned was that to amass major points, I need to be a whore.....I would rather be an average schmuck and shoot people close up with a G3.

There are VERY few good generals in the top 100. The worse ones are Phantom and ECR.RC, phantom has over 7000 tks and he whores armor always and ECR.RC has over 3000 and whores armor as well and bans for it. Odd 3 days ago ECR.RC has only about 2500 tks. He got over 500 more in only a few days.

There are a few high scoring ground pounders, but you are correct ... a high SPM usually corresponds with whoring something (commander, armor, chopper, or jet).

I think whoring ... well is whoring. It's fucking pointless staying on this game for 1 gajillion hours just to sit and a tank and blow the crap out of the enemy jihads.

The most fun aspect of the game is to range the use of eveything, and its better to play for fun , not for rank.
I'm sure ECR ect.. all ujust go on the game as much as possible , trying not to lose their rank to another twat.

I must say that I have played against several of the top 50 players, and was very disappointed in the way they play. I mean 67% of them are some type of vehicle wh0re (armour, helicopter, jet, etc.) 20% are commander wh0res, and the remaining 13% spam grenades.

The only person in the top 50 that I actually admire is BlaZiN.uk, simply because he plays the game how it was meant to be played. He isn't afraid to be killed and plays to have fun. And you call him a "defibrillator wh0re" but if you do the math, not even 1/3 of his points are from revives. Look at his assault rifle kills - almost 61,000, which is more than anyone else. He doesn't complain or whine when he gets killed (I do though ) - he doesn't even have any bans.

If you can play this game for over 1,700 hours without armour wh0ring or receiving a ban, you deserve a little respect.

I don't mind if people sit back in their armor and whore. That's what its there for. If you try and cap flags with armor you will end up as smouldering c4 residue. However if there is enemy armor around then you should engage that as that is armors first priority. Otherwise just sit back and whore. You are more likely to help win the round killing 30 or so enemies than getting blown up every couple of minutes trying to cap flags.

Bah.. Everyone does this if they can get away with it... The only difference between a general doing it and a leutenant is that the leutenant probably wont TK for the vehicle, or he doesn't play as much.

But you are correct, there are a lot of poeple who dont play the game "to play the game" (ie.: have fun), but just to score points... This is the single reason why I have no respect whatsoever for the average top100 player... There are one or two who are actually fun to play with, but I can count them one one hand and still have spare finger(s). Sure I do the whole medic whore thing once in a while, or I whore some points in a helo tank once in a while, but you are quite correct in your inital assumption, most generals have a very one track mind, and it's not aobut having fun being a good teamplayer.

Someone mentioned that many of the generals have very high TK numbers. I have about 1 TK pr hour played.. I've seen people with 5 times that (!). I suicide a lot to get to strategic locations in a hurry (newly capped flags, flags under attack etc), generals usually only suicide when they see a tank available.

Also, you will notice that the majority of generals are focusing on a single map (usualyl Karkand, big surprise, huh ?) and learn how to get easy/fast points of that one map, and do nothing else. Karkand (point)whores tend to dislike it when the hotel and square are taken, because they usually dont know how to whore points on other flags.

In general, the majority of poele with an SPM over 3 seem to have a very one track mind, and value points over wins (only to switch sides at the end of the game if they're loosing, thus attempting hiding the fact that they suck) or teamplay (as you say, no point whore is going for flags, after all, that's only 2-4 points, whereas he can get that easily by spawnraping some noob to the ground).

You will also notice that the point whores use this as their only defense "But I'm helping the team by costing the enemy tickets". Sure, they're helping.. that's why all of the armor/helos/jets, which are the most powerful in the game, are NOT going for flags, so our team bleeds to death while they score their precious points.

Hey, I like scoring points the same as the next guy.... But I also play to have fun. I'd be SOOOOOO happy if EA would just cap scoring at say 180K (or whatever is the highest rank), so that there would be no reason for the point whores to mess up the game for the rest of us once they've reached this point.

Did you just agree to your own post???? Anyway, as for the Generals, my understanding is they want to score thee most point's and if that is the case then so be it. Most of the officers in this game, my self included whore something once in a while, there comes a point when you get sick of being owned buy the tanker or the heli spamin point's at your only base. Atleast with this infantry mode, the tank whores really will only have other tank whores to fight, really do think that infantry mode will over take the normal game on quite a few maps, karkand especially, i hate tht map soley because of the tanks. If i get owned by someone who can take me down with an assault rifle then so be it, try harder next time, but those god dam tanks, ARGH. Anyhoo after the next patch, the generals with have to switch tactics if they wish to continue with these high scoring rounds, or just give up, 2142 isnt long away is it?

during he was doing it the rest of the team had enough cover to cap some flag.!
