Reinstalled how?

Anyway, if you made a backup copy of 1.3 before patching up to the 1.4 Beta (like it says in the instructions) it should be no problem to go back to your previous, working, state.

and also it does matter what slots you put your ram in if you have four slots and two 512mb sticks you have to put them in the right slots to make them work.  (well its that way with my Asus board)

good look

RAM - if you have four slots and just two sticks of ram, use the stick them in slots that are the same colour.  Typically this willmean putting them in slots 1 & 3 or 2 & 4.

BF2.  If you've downloaded the beta version, as Todd said, you need to take a backup of the whole bf2 directory and make a shortcut of the backup - call it something like 1.3 bf2 and stick it on your desktop.  Then install the 1.4 version - it will target itself at the original installation of bf2.   Rename your original shortcut to something like 1.4b2 BF2 and you should end up with separate icons for 1.3 BF2, SF BF2 and 1.4b2 BF2.

If you want to stop playing 1.4b2 and play ordinary stuff, you'll need to fully exit the game and start either 1.3 or SF BF2.

If you don't have the backup system as recommended I think that the best way is to re-install BF2 !

Yeah, compleatly remove BF2 from your PC and install it again, then patch to 1.3 using the 1.3 full patch.
