I ask myself 2 things. 1st one, what do they mean by the "bullet drop" thing with snipers?

And 2nd, how exactly you earn points beeing commander. Is it by let's 1 pt after 5 kills of all the team, or let's say 1 pt after 2 flags capture?? What is the objectif to gain points as a commander?? How does it exactly happens.

thx

well i can answer the bullet drop thing,

bullet drop is as the bullet is traveling to reach its target the bullet will "drop" or just go down in its path to it's target. projectiles don't go in straight lines, they go in parabolic paths so the bullet drop is like just the curve of the parabola. so ya... the bullet falls down as it gets really far.

For Commander points, drop supplies. If people use them, (friendlies,) you get points. Also, order a squad to attack a point. If they capture it, you get rewarded. Same goes for defence. If a squad member you have ordered to defend a point gets a "Flag defend" you get rewarded. Same with ordering repairs, or demolitions. They do something you tell them to do, and you're sweet.

Artillery kills used to count too didn't they?

Only Bullets In the game that Don't Follow This Gravity Rule is the AA Vehicle Gun. The American one I know for Sure shoots a Ray of Bullets that don't drop down.

Are the lines on the barrett's scope of any actual use to compensate for bullet drop? Eg, to aim at a target 600yards/meters far, shall I line up the target with the '6' line? Or is it just for aesthetics?

thanks

its mostly for aesthetics, personally i tend to look at the target and if they're far away go slightly higher when i'm using the M95, bullet drop is something i found that you learn from experience. The best way for new guys to see it is to just hold down on the fire button to see where they hit. all i do is look, point line up and fire.

(btw i only believe its for aesthetics i dont know if that's true or not for sure. it's never done anything for me so far.)

OMFG, not again, just another post of Tyferra and his false information. *getting somehow angry* Maybe you should play as commander a little bit more...
I think this guy explained it better than I could, so I'll quote him:

SysTray wrote:

Commander points is an average of your team's score basically. Artillery counts for global kills and combat points but not global points, this is the reason that your commander, teamwork, and combat score don't equal your global score. You can get "Kills In a round" requirements from artillery alone.

You get a percentage of every score your team makes as commander. If BobJoe7 kills someone and there are 17 total people on your team you get 2/17 (0.11) points). The decimals don't show up, but they are there. Once you hit a whole number, that number shows as your score.

The division is based on how many people on your team are alive at the time of the point scored though. When BobJoe7 killed another guy, all 17 members of your team weren't alive, so it is divided by the number that were alive. 2/13=0.15 points.

At the end of the round if you are still commander and your team wins, your score is doubled. These extra points don't count toward awards like the War College Ribbon (notice the "Before 2x"), but you still get them. Cool, huh? If you had 36 it would double to 72. But if you had some weird decimal again it may "double" to 73. You may have had 36.67 points before the win.

If you teamkill as commander, the points you lose still double. If you had 23 commander points, and lost 4 due to a teamkill, it would show as 19. If the round finished right after that, your points would "double" to 42.

You still have 23 commander points, which got doubled to 46, then you lost the 4 for the teamkill. Thus leaving you with 42.
...and...

Mike<Eagle23> wrote:

Global score = Combat score + Team score + Commander score - Combat score as commander (nobody knows how many points) - Team score as commander
(e.g. you are commander while using the support class and give ammo to someone else. You'll get a point for resupplies, but this score does not count as global score...)
Btw, thats not only his opinion:

This is straight from the Wiki section on this site:

Commander Score

The commander score is the sum of all commander points earned. The commander points are every point earned by a member of your team during your reign as commander divided by the total of living team members at the given time. This is multiplied by two at the end of the round, when your team wins, and only if you are still active commander at the end of the round. Artillery kills or any personal achievement does not add up to this number. Personal achievements besides artillery kills are added to your points in the round, and count as combat or team points.

You know I think Tyferra is right to a point.  Its not based on the straight average although that is a factor.  I've played commander often and I've done it just by letting the number climb and doing what tyferra said.  I got a hell of alot more points being active than just hoping my team gets alot of kills.

You have to take account of the fact that your team will have a better chance to survive / get kills if the commander acts in order to help his team. To know, where the enemy hides or get supplies in the right moment can increase the team;s number of points and so the number of your commander points will increase too.
Just try it with some friends on an unranked server. Hurt each other and then use supplies to heal and rearm. repeat it a few times, Nobody (including the commander) will have any points.
