Don't get me wrong. Having a Commander is great, when he contributes to the team. IMHO I think promotions are earned in the field and not by laying back and exploiting the skilled guys.

When someone talks about commanders and has less than f.e. 10,000 CPs , that would be like me talking about flying with jets.

First fact you have to think about: Commanding is only a deal when your team wins! Otherwise you would have earned much more points as a normal soldier (unless you're to bad at all).

Next thing you have to accept: When both teams are nearly balanced, the side with the better commander will win!

Give it a try and do your first 50 hrs in this position. And not just be commander but BE commander! Learn to deal with squads saying yes but doing something other, learn to decide where you crate, arty, UAV is needed most at the moment, learn to deal with idiots who think they are invulnerable to friendly arty, know all maps to be able to decide which flags are really important to keep or get, accept staring on just one screen for hours, live with the fact that you have a fulltime job and don't even have the time to replace your drink, agonise consequent mutinity allthough you do your best for the team, stand this brand new shiny tank nearby and leave it for a mate, etc.

And when you get an award or a promotion by doing this consequently nothing will gnaw at your conscience but you'll think your hard job was worth every single point.
