Getting the plane is the hard part not the flying. A quick read of the flying guides and a guy that has never flown in a game before can preform well using simple tips.PRiMACORD wrote:

I think most of you are missing the point. The laser guided bombs take like no skill to use period. The pilot should get the kills since he is the one doing all the hard shit.
Frankly I find killing infantry with the main gun on an MBT to be "too" easy, almost skill-less. And killing with claymores. And grenade spamming. And tossing first aid kits randomly. And lying in an alleyway on Karkand where you know enemy guys are going to spawn right in front of you.PRiMACORD wrote:

Maybe people shouldn't get points for those either?
In my opinion getting kills in the second seat of an F15 is easy only if the opposing side lets it be. If their pilots gave half a fscking shit about air dominance or air supremecy, and their mudsloggers had half a fscking clue that "Mobile Anti-Air" is not a fscking tank and should be looking UP not down then it wouldn't be QUITE SO EASY now would it???
Its like saying "you don't deserve those rifle kills" when the opposing team won't use anything but knives. It's only easy because they let it be.
Sorry if I'm sounding pissed-off - I feel I work hard for every point I get; I am not highly skilled as my stats and badges show. I play for my team and I've put the time in to learn what the tools of modern warfare are for and how they are best applied. To say that I don't deserve points because the enemy hasn't made that effort, because the enemy doesn't play for their team is damned insulting. It's like me suggesting that you don't deserve points for killing someone of a lower rank because it must be "too easy".

You have every right to be pissed at their comments. I had typed a reply to it earlier but changed my mind about posting it. LMG kills are not easy against a team that has half a brain about air supremecy and how to use mobile AA. You have to look around to find targets while the pilot is working his ass off to keep you both alive.Windrider_Melb wrote:

For a wake whore with shitty aviator stats and lousy SPM/KDR you're biting off a little more than you can chew.Ir0n-M@n wrote:

The whole point of this thread was to find out why he is missing the kills. Why don't you go argue about the bomber seat in another thread. Polarz, would mind doing the obvious!!!!!

Because it's the same concept.
lol
I mistakenly read the topic title as "Missing aviator skills question", and thought I should read it because my aviator skills are also missing...

I really didn't want to start a flame war with my OP. Hopefully a mod will close the thread.
You should play Leviathan mate; night-time attack chopper flying. That's the next level.
Come down and check-out Internode some time - we get guys from Japan with Pings around 120-170ms and our players are pretty good (internode sees a few of our top 20 ranked players every night).

HAHAHAHAHA @ ^^^^^^^^ (post above the one above)
Most of us don't really care how big/good your stats are. People have multiplee accounts so judging by the account they care to advertise is really pointless.
OP:
The kills should go under aviator.
Any kills achieved from a vehicule get credited to the vehicule.
Anybody who waits for the lock before firing an LGM still has a lot to learn about using LGMs.
Many lucrative targets will never show up as a lock. The transport helo, the attack helo, infantry under UAV, UAV, arty and sat scan.
I always fire at AA sites and mobile AA spawns without locks. It keeps people from being interested in using them thus making my job easier.
So learn to steer the LGMs and you will double your contribution to your team. . Having said that, if your bomber pilot is following aircraft all over the sky, or avoiding constant fighter attacks there won't be much you can do unless you are REALLY good with LGMs.
The bomber pilot, like the attack helo pilot, has to fly for you.
Communication is also important. So join his squad or create one and invite him.

The US economy is a giant Ponzi scheme. And 'to big to fail' is code speak for 'niahnahniahniahnah 99 percenters'
When you were a fragle little child you had your bombing run kills stolen by your pubbing co pilot didn't you?PRiMACORD wrote:

I'm so sorry, now quit whining about LGMs.
QFT. I hardly ever wait for lock. If it's a dumb tanker or something and I have the time, sure I'llw ait for a guaranteed hit, but I always fire at transports and most armor without a lock. I'm getting pretty good but I'm no perfectionist yet.Stubbee wrote:

But the practice is fun. You also can get way more kills with an LGM then you do with MG strafing.

Look for the little circles on the ground, those are vehicles. Just hover the aiming thingy over it for a second it'll lock on. Then just fire.TuataraDude wrote:
Slightly off topic, but still related. How do you control the missiles from a bomber? Is it the same as the TV gunner in the helos?

But conversationally sometimes even if you have a lock on, if the pilot jinks hard or the target is far beneath you your missile is going to go awry.
Don't wait for the lock. Guide it manually.

MORE INFO:
Some people like to switch views to look behind the plane to help the pilot etc. (not ect. !)
I don't recommend you do that because it usually FUBARs the missiles. FUBAR neaning they won't lock anymore, they wont fire because they are stuck in a reload loop, they lock but the lock is lost almost immediately, or they fire 'offset' left or right of the plane from your POV and wont steer.
So stay in camera mode for best results.
Cycling through the views sometimes resets the problem but not always.
Sometimes firing all your missiles resets them too.
And finally:
be sure you learn to hit your targets without the pilot slowing down. Most pilots would agree that slowing down is generally fatal.
I do everything I can to make the gunner's job easier, but I will NEVER slow down for you. I won't gun for pilots who do either. i will ask them not to slown down but they don't always listen. Hell it could be my fault for playing European (<--- see Stryker) servers where English/French may not be spoken.

Just a quick note to all of you who answered my question....thank you.
How does that make sense? Second seater bombers just click, they don't even have to point ffs. If you want to get into AA you're just asking to die. Its called a cannon, very useful for taking out AA.MorbidFetus wrote:
