Creating a Little Bird movie - Why it's impossible

Hey guys,

I've always thought about creating a Little Bird movie, but the existing servers make it a mission impossible.
I haven't been able to find a 64man AF server with battlerecorder turned on while having the right settings. There are some very nice AF servers (like 101st) running the perfect settings, but those don't have battlerecorder turned on. The only AF servers with battlerecorder that I can think of are the TV2 servers, but with autoswapping turned on those servers are useless (don't come up with the hopping back thing every round). I asked TV2 on their forums if they could turn autoswapping off, but no response...so I have to find something better.

Does anyone know of any 64 AF servers (either 24/7 one map or full AF rotation) with battlerecorder ON and autoswapping OFF? Maybe there's some admin who just needs to turn battlerecorder on his sweet 64 server? I would be glad to get some help on this, otherwhise I just give up.

I already asked TRH a while ago and he forwarded that question to the server provider, but no response so far. Frapping and creating a 1st person only movie would be a little bit boring in my opinion. I already have so many ideas I need battlerecorder for. Using 1st person fraps would be my last option.

you could maybe start with 1st person, so u got something to work on, and then go with battlerecorder in the second part of the movie?

i have a suggestion if you want some 3rd person ownage... someone could sit in the support seats and fraps your flying in thirdperson?

Well that would be one idea, but I need different camera angles. Running fraps while trying to archieve my goal would end up in several GB of frap material...which would take a HUGE amout of time to transfer to me. A constant rear view would be just like constant 1st person.

you can compress it with divx, then with winrar, and then store it on a fileserver?

Only server admins can start one, he wants to make one in multiplayer, oh maybe you could do demo.recordDemo littlebird.

If I remember it right his computer can record everything using a recorder on his comp, but I migth be wrong.

The problem is that I wanted to create a movie out of a single round, getting over the 100 kills mark on a full 64man server. For that you need to have a 3man squad that works together trying to achieve that goal over a lot of rounds. The stupid autoswapping option makes that impossible, since you won't be able to switch everyone back to US every round, set up the squad again every round and get the Little Bird at the beginning every round.
