Why my FPS so low compared to others?

I've been reading these forums (I.E. this thread, this post, and this post) and I'm wondering why I have so low FPS compared to others. Like I have lower FPS than somebody who has worse GPU than me.

I run BF2 at these settings (without lag):

I have HIS Radeon X1800XT 512 Mb, AMD Athlon 64 3200+ and 2 Gb of ram and I get average FPS of 30-50.

Try to turn off Anti-Aliasing,I have a way crappier videocard than you(GF 6600GT 128MB AGP!) and I have high quality textures and high geometry,the rest is either medium or low.

Agreed ... 4X AA takes up a lot of your GPU.

I used to run high settings fine before 1.3. Then it progressively got worse and worse. Right now I have a mix of high and medium, with the lighting set to the worst... no lag even on 64 but god damn is it ugly.
