Can anyone give me tips to using the light machine guns? I seem to play this class most often, but i often get caught off guard and end up dying more times then killing. Also sometimes im in a situation that i have the advantage but i still lose Ex: im already prone shooting at someone but the other guy just seems to run toward me spraying and kills me before i can get 2 shots off.

Is there something im doing wrong or is there something i should be doing?

btw i use the PKM right now until i can unlock the MG36. Or are the defaults better?

obviously you want to be prone as otherwise your accuracy will be zero. Don't hold the mouse button but shoot in burst (especially at longer range), if someone runs around the corner, spam all the bullets you can.
All I can say is practice, prone and bursts. Usually these three make it work. Of course you still get owned by some guys but with practice, you'll become better.

I like the PKM more, don't have the mg36.

And don't forget you have infinite nades! (but don't walk out with them, it takes ages to switch to your pkm gun if you run into someone.

go prone, or else don't use the class.....use your ammo bags too. no reason why you can't get 10 - 15 points a round dropping ammo.

your there to support, not be front line...hang back a bit, find a nice corner....and like he said, short bursts

De_Jappe basicly pointed out all of the most important stuff.
Personally, dont think of the guns as spray and pray, and you have a good chance of killing.
Dont ever go nuts when you see a group of guys, your almost always better off just pressing the suicide button then unloading on them. Aim for the chest not the head, only if your real damn close, body and chest are usually on your side.
I'll think of some more crap that makes sense later.

The PKM is better then the MG36 anyway, well I find it better.

As for general advice, the PKM is more accurate then most people give it credit, tap off 2-3 round bursts at range, aiming for the center of mass (right in the middle of the guy). The PKM is powerful, you only need to hit them a few times.

Its best used in a defending situation, its too heavy to move around with efectively in close combat, it best used almost as a sniper rifle, hang back, get in a good position and fire away.

Also remember to use the ammo bags at every oppertunity. Infact you can get alot of points just chasing people around all map and giving them ammo. As the guy said above, its not hard to get 15-20 (even more) ammo points in one round.

i like the mg36 way better, u have more accuracy and can switch the gun to burst fire
