whats the least i can expect for the budled prebuilt one...i saw one for like 1200 which is definatly out of price range..(sorta tight budget)TuRfYMaN wrote:
First of all, I'm sorry you're frustrated, but this isn't rocket science. There is no formula for "I have $500 to make BF2 run, how do I do it?" So, while we are trying to help, you'll have to bear with us. I honestly would really like to help you, but you are the one ultimately who will throw down the cash for this machine. I would think you would want more than just some person's opinion of what to buy.
Secondly, why would you buy a PC w/o a graphics card that could run BF2, if that is what you want anyways? It's usually cheaper for the OEM to bundle hardware than a consumer could buy it. So, if you want a prebuilt machine, try to get one that will need 'minimal' upgrades to run BF2.
Next, I have a few questions. (Which a few have been asked before...)
1) How much do you have to spend? (Give me a definite number, and I'll be able to help you more.)
2) Would you be able to build a machine from parts? (Definitely the most cost effective route.)
3) If you can't build one from parts, how about a 'barebones' system? (This means most of the work is done, you just have to finish building it and add expansion cards.)
Finally, I ask you to do some shopping yourself. Check sites like www.newegg.com , www.tigerdirect.com , www.froogle.com just to name a few. I'll try as best as I can to help you build a machine to run BF2.
I have to sleep now, it is 5:30AM. I'll PM you my e-mail address, just send me an e-mail, and we can converse over that medium rather than continuously posting on the BF2s.com forum.

I cant play battlefeild on my computer for some reason. its so gay. it plays the video at the start and stuff...but when it comes up with the first screen where the background is fuzzy, nothing happens, all i can hear is "welcome to duty" and music but nothing comes up. and then it minimizes the game and says that the graphics card cant handle it or something to that extent. But i have what is specified. A RADEON 9750, which is greater than what it says (RADEON 8500) it also says with 128mb of space, and my graphics card is 128mb.... Can anyone help me PLEEEEAASE!!! I love this game!!!
u need atleast 256 meg graphics.....Staindsoul7 wrote:

you can run BF2 with a 64MB Graphics, in crapy optic though. 128 MB RAM GPU is enough to run in normal settings 800x600 or 1024x768!!!
Staindsoul7: please list you system specs. Have you updated the drivers for the videocard? Check ATI website
aaah! how do you get system specs???
haha sorry
haha sorry
can anyone tell me a url for a prebuilt pc bundle thats good but the cheapst i can expect for a bundle
easy,Staindsoul7 wrote:

1. click start
2. click systemsettings
3. click system
man, I think you´ve already got enough examples. The cheapest prebuild system will NOT rund BF2 and you will NOT be able to upgrade it with another videocard!=W=GeneralSherman wrote:

Further, if you keep asking the same and the same every second post, I´ll close this one. Check the examples you already got and dont be so lazy man

ok, do you know whats the exact name of your CPU? I guess it´s an Pentium4 2.8 or something close. Hm, enought to play imho.
512MB RAM are enough (there is never enough RAM) for playing this game.
Check the ATI website for some new graphicdrivers... I dont know your card exactly, but I guess it´s a clone of 9600-9800 series, which should work with BF2.
Remember, some ATI cards dont run BF2, and dont ask, I dunno why

go to this link http://compreviews.about.com/od/video/tp/videocards.htm
I not long built a computer for work that will run BF2 (all be it barely) for just under £300 (which was my budget) Which roughly equates to just over $500 US.
As I'm not at work now, I can't tell you the exact parts, but I used:
Asrock AM2 motherboard, the cheapest socket AM2 mobo I could find
3 GHz AMD Opteron CPU (skt AM2 obviously)
1 GB of corsair value select DDR2
ATI x1300 graphics card (yeah i know it sucks, but this was meant for work remember)
80 GB SATA HD
Lite-on DVD-RW drive
and bodged it all in a cheap crappy case upgraded with a half decent 400W psu
Like I said, this rig cost just under £300, so I'm guessing it should cost around $500
It wont play BF2 well, not well at all, but it WILL play it, and best of all, as its all new tech (all be it the lowest end of the new tech) it means that when you do get some extra cash to play with, you can upgrade the bloody thing!
If you can build your own PC from scratch, or know someone who can build one for you, I seriously suggest doing something similar to this, as any pre-built PC will bring you no end of grief when it comes to upgrading it, and thats even if it can be upgraded, as has already been said multiple times in this thread, alot of cheap pre-built comps comes with onboard graphics and no AGP or PCI-E slots, making them the most useless piles of crap ever for a gaming PC.
Failing that, have you thought about buying a pre-owned computer? My comp will run BF2 just fine on mostly high settings and 4x AA, yet if I were to sell it today I'd be lucky to get much more than £250-£300 for it (which is less than I paid for the graphics card for it which is only a year or so old (X800XT)) as its all old tech now and can't really be upgraded without having to buy a new everything.

lol, this card is around 300 Bucks.... Read the 1st. post, the OP wants to spend 500 Bucks max... Come one! Why not suggesting a Quad Sli GF 7950GX or ASUS N7800GTDUAL... man!
Ok, i have a question that has nothing to do with his computer, but does deal with GPUs.
Im building a comp for 700usd, see link in my sig, but For a Video card, im pretty sure im getting a GeForce 7600, but do i want a GT 256 GDDR3 or GS 512 GDDR2? which is better, cus i dont know.

GT imo. GDDR3 = faster. GT > GS in most cases too. Add one and one together, and yeah. GT.Paco_the_Insane wrote:
